January 15, 201313 yr I just wondered if anyone is able to use the menus in fsx and return to a flight without any corrupted graphics or crashes. This happens to me intermittantly after saving or planning a route. I would like to think there was someone out there who has never had this occur and could share their system details. At the moment Ryan is helping me find a solution but trying to rule things out when dealing with intermittant faults is tricky Colin
January 16, 201313 yr If you have UAC enabled turn it off completely. It has caused me issues in the past. Steve Giblin
January 16, 201313 yr Re you running 32 or x64 windows? I run win 7 x64 Ultimate. I have FSX on its own drive still have UAC on, and uiautomation.dll in fsx dir and don't have any problems with CTD's, freezes, or any other problems with FSX. The only error i had was with the 3dg.dll and that was fixed by putting back the fsuipc.dll that was overwritten. I have no problem starting back any saved flights. I know this is a question u have heard before, but do you have all the updates for the 737NGX installed? Along with any windows updates that are relevant to FSX? January 16, 201313 yr I used to have the same problem. I downloaded uiautomationcore.dll and placed it in my FSX folder, and now I cant get FSX to crash no matter how hard I try.
January 16, 201313 yr I also used to have the problem and like above the uiautomationcore.dll fix fixed it. Jay Vorkapic
January 17, 201313 yr I too support the UIAutomationCore.dll tweak. While it is generally very effective, I wouldn't go searching for problems to occur. I still occasionally experience freezes, but not to the point where I need to be paranoid about using menus.
January 17, 201313 yr Same problem and fixed with the same tweak mentioned above, although I did have to have the exact version correct of the file, can't remember the version number off the top of my head. I also have another tweak running, I think it's called fixit from Microsoft, I think it prevents menu crashes, or maybe it fixes crashes caused by tcas mode changes? Whatever it does, it fixed it. -Iain Watson-
January 17, 201313 yr although I did have to have the exact version correct of the file, can't remember the version number off the top of my head. I believe the version on Word Not Allowed's Guide is reliable. It is the one I am using.

January 17, 201313 yr UIAutomationCore.dll tweak does not work for everyone in my case I had to get rid of them then all my troubles were gone. Did you make sure that you were using a correct or reliable version, such as the one I linked previously?
January 18, 201313 yr I had to d/l several different ones to find the correct one. Even the one I got from MS didn't work. I can't remember where I got the one I'm using now that works flawlessly. But email me and I'll send it to you. Joseph Rogg, Jr Proud Supporter of AVSIM, PMDG, P3D, XP, and others in the FS Community . January 18, 201313 yr I have no problems with menus in FSX. When actually flying, I would normally only use the menus to access the 'map' for checking frequencies etc. I run a pretty standard FSX Gold (but I had no problems with Acceleration either) with the tweaks recommend in the NGX introduction. I run on Win7 (64bit) with the usual addons. ActiveSky for weather and textures, Orbx for sceneries, some Mega airports and so on. One habit I have got into that might help, is that I use Alt-Enter to change to and from windowed mode before I change to any other application. Paul Smith.
