Hi guys I am sick and tired of the constant issues with my Asus Maximus Extreme IV and will be getting another board, I have had nothing but problems with this board it's been RMA three times now.

 

So I am after a board that's good for overclocking a i7 2700K please cost doesn't matter just not ASus maximus board ever!

I am using ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe right now and i am very satisfied with it. I too have 2700k...

So - if you arent afraid from ASUS itself, give it a shot!

OK Just got one $309.00 cany be bad see how i go now fresh install oh well, would you guys give me some guidance with OC this board once im setup? Maybe over Skype? Cheers Wayne.

Honestly, Asus is one of the best manufacturers out there. Mighty unfortunate that you are having these issues.

My Asus Sabertooth has been rock solid for my 2700K. The 5 year warranty is a also a good piece of mind,

Got the P8 Z77 Deluxe just a shame i have to reinstall everything.

Read FSMark11 tread works good on 2700k and 3770k,

as good as the best ASUS Mb if you want all out Z77 GA-Z77-UD7

Yep, I have the ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe as well. Great board with my 3770k at 4.5 Ghz.

I have a Maximus Extreme IV board as well and its the worst board I've ever had, complete waste of a small fortune. You cant even put the bloody thing in standby as it will never wake up again, until that is you toggle the power on the power supply, the PCIE slots simply refuse to wakeup from standby, its a widespread problem and long with the cold boot problems and some SATA ports just completely disappearing at times. Then you have the problems with some of the USB 3 ports just stop working for no apparent reason. Seriously a piece of crap board.

 

The board I had previous to this was for the old i7 9** series, a Maximus Rampage Formula (I think that's what it was called, my brother has it now) and that board was absolutely bullet proof and is still running a 920 at 4Ghz 3 or more years later.

Touch wood the new one I got today is a dream no issues as yet and floating perfectly big scenery add on install day tomorrow. Can't wait, then a small OC to boost frames good recommendation to so far by Ben and Co cheers guys. Your right Maximus Extreme Iv b3 version was a dud heaps of issues. 3 RMA's was proof of that and Asus took 3 months to get the board back last time.

Hi Wayne: Here are some settings which you can use to move the proc up. There is also a 2700k notes pdf as well, plus a bsod codes chart. Use them as a starting point, and if you have any doubts of your own competence, get back here, we can set up a TeamSpeak3 session and walk through it. The 2700k is good for 5.0 gig, though 4.9 is adequate, and she'll do that on less than 1.4 vCore. Ok? :smile:
