I would gladly spend $50 more for good ATC, $50 for good ai Traffic, $50 for a good weather program, there's probably more. Are they in the works, not that I know of, and I highly doubt it if past precedence is any indicator. If I could sit and have a coffee with Austin I would ask that he stop trying to develop the program in areas that he doesn't excel at, refine the 64 bit base, and leave it alone so people that make worthy addons for flight simulators can bring your program to the level it deserves. To continually just plug away at it year after year is not going to cut it, let the addon experts in, and bring this program to the top, where it belongs.

Agreed, and I'm probably not the most "diplomatic" when it comes to saying things or trying to get my point across, so I've been told. I do my best to be to the point and concise though, and at times what is said is not popular. That won't stop me from saying them, and I will respect another’s point of view, so long as my view is respected as well.

 

I see all the good, I also see all the bad, and comment on both from time to time.

I think Glen is being honest-not confrontational-something that often seems to be hard to accept in the xplane culture.

 

I'm sure he was being honest, but you can't convince me that statements like "It's funny, why don't you guys ever take a screen shot more than 1-2 thousand feet above the cloud layer, trying to hide something?" are not deliberately confrontational. That and his general implication that we're being dishonest if we don't completely agree with him, i.e. "A little honesty can go a long way to improving situations, hiding behind facts does nothing to improve a situation."

 

Does X-Plane 10 have its shortcomings? Of course it does. It would be ridiculous to assert otherwise. Are those shortcomings sufficient to warrant pitching X-Plane 10 to the curb? I doubt any reasonable person would think so.

I'm not sure how cold it was this morning definitely closer to - 40 but I had no power steering in my car, the fluid was frozen....and could not move my clutch Took a while for the heat from the engine to thaw it all

Well, I decidet to order it today. I do this with a strong running FSX in mind, so what can I loose? It's less than a dinner with family. Still hoping for seasons. Not those texture replacements, but an inbuild feature that changes seasonal textures as you travel. Until the parcel arrives I will redownload my payware from XP9 and hope most will work. And I need an RXP GPS for XP, can't stand the default ones.

 

Good to hear, despite what many of the back and forth threads on this forum may suggest, there's many of us lurkers who actually enjoy both FSX and XPX without feeling like we need to pick a side and attack or defend either... sometimes this forum feels like a divorce custody battle :Black Eye:

 

I also agree with your point on RXP, I have it on FSX and miss it on XPX, but it's on my list of add-ons to pick up this year.

I guess I just need to get out of my usual VFR bush flying and above the cloud layer sometimes, recently picked up the JRollon J32 and CRJ200 so hopefully will be seeing a similar view more often.

I do not think for one second that the XP community will take a comment as being offensive when the post has positive comments that in some way help make XP even better. And when I say "positive" I don't mean you have to accept the flaws.
