January 23, 201313 yr People, if you don't like some aspects of XPX, well just don't use it, The aspects I don't like are the hype and the fanaticism. Those aren't sufficient reasons not to use it. Give it a rest, you know who you are! Name names. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
January 23, 201313 yr meshman's comments prompted me to look over my last year's worth of posts, and I note with some amusement that one of my earliest run-ins with Goran was less than friendly. Needless to say, I have since come to appreciate his point of view. Who knows, maybe I'll feel the same about LAdamson in 12-months. :biggrin:
January 23, 201313 yr Go for it. :Whistle: Nah, for fun I think I'll go decipher a DSF file or two and see if it starts to make any sense. :Nerd:
January 23, 201313 yr :lol: Apparently you've hopped right over into fantasy land. So now I "attack" positive comments, do I? But enough of all that, fair enough? This petty bickering is fun and all, but when I sit down behind my CH Eclipse yoke, use navaids to find an obscure grass runway in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness, and pull off a perfect landing... ...where the plane smoothly settles onto the runway and everything just feels right... well, isn't that what a consumer grade desktop flight simulator is all about? :smile: It's the middle of January, your in Alaska, where's the bleep,bleep, snow, you asked for it...... ^_^ love XPX..... January 23, 201313 yr Where I live now there is only one season year around. Thus I am perfectly happy with xplane's one season and if I never see white stuff again..well...let's see-putting the preheater on at 5 degrees, chipping ice for 45 minutes off the hangar ramp while the engines heat up in 25 knt. winds, shivering pre flighting the plane, almost sliding off the icy runway both on takeoff and landing, picking up deadly ice in flight-and then the best-tripping the heater fuse after takeoff because the heat adjustments in the plane were a little off from the last flight requiring a reset which can only be done by getting up in the nose wheel well and resetting the breaker on the ground. Flying for 2 hours in a 28 degree cockpit due to being on a schedule/ifr plan. No thanks-it will take me years before I want to even simulate that again! January 23, 201313 yr Thus I am perfectly happy with xplane's one season Wrong answer Geof.... , by the way, it's currently -27 Celsius outside, expected low of -29, that's 20 below zero for you Fahrenheit folks, bundle up people. January 23, 201313 yr Was sunny and 78 F here today-I kinda like that! I was shoveling/shivering last year at this time-hard to imagine! Geof, I would be out of here in a minute if "life" permitted it, unfortunately it doesn't.....at the moment. Arizona would be my choice. I love Canada, and would never want to leave for good, but would I miss winter, never. Then I could quit bit**in about the snow textures.....maybe not. :smile: Gigabyte z590 UD - i5 11600k 4.9 GHz - 64gb 3600 MHz ram - RTX 3070 ti - multiple ssd - 34" 3440x1440 100 Hz Curved - Saitek Yoke Pedals Throttle Quadrant x2 - TM T16000m x2 Throttle - Win 11 Pro
January 23, 201313 yr Funny you should mention it-I was just in Phoenix-and 60% of the people I met were from Canada! Of course we know Detroit where I lived for 31 years is North of Canada :lol: Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

January 23, 201313 yr Who says XP clouds don't look good: And that's with real weather on Hi Pirata, they do look good indeed but TBH they don't look like the default! Are those not from one of the the HD cloud packages up on the Org (I have some very similar)?
