September 2, 201411 yr Commercial Member Nice plugin. But not very useful with TrackIR since the roll axis is missing. I'll look into the roll option but I don't think the X-Plane SDK lets you control pilot's head roll axis. I might be mistaken but I'll see what I can do. Nice plugin except that: Every time I open the X-Plane menu, or switch between cameras the TrackIR stops responding. I have to switch to outside circle view and back to View 1. The pitch and heading adjustment buttons in the CP do not work. I see the values changing but the camera stays still. Same for the pitch and heading shortcut keys ctrl-shift-up/down etc. Looking very good but needs debugging. Hmm, I haven't had these problems reported yet and I just tested it again and it seems to be working. I just uploaded a new version with some new features to X-Plane.org X-Camera 0.1. If you still are interested in it I'd be happy to work with you on any problems. Mark

September 3, 201411 yr Will be trying this tomorrow once my X-Plane has been fully downloaded and updated. From EGFF to YSSY

September 5, 201411 yr Okay after doing some tests I realised that my Headshake plugin was not up to date. I was running 1.2 and X-Camera requires 1.3 to function correctly. My apologies Mark! However, I am finding stuttering and a significant fps hit when the two are used together. I will test some more and report back.

In the PilotView manual, Sandy mentions this as the reason for having the ResetRollOffsetOnStartup option in the PilotView ini. There was no "roll" axis in XPlane when PilotView was written as there were for the other axes. He must be using some other dataref to accomplish this.XCamera has been performing great for me while using GA aircraft. I haven't tried it with any liners yet but hopefully will later this week. September 10, 201411 yr Well, I uninstalled Headshake 1.3 because of this conflict; not that I dislike it, but because X-Camera is way too useful for the TrackIR! However here's a bit more feedback for the developer:, sometimes when I add a camera, then modify it, the original camera I was using when I added the new one gets messed up and I have to recreate it again. Not sure what's going on but it's happened to me a few times. Anyone else? It would also be useful if, when one adds a new camera, that it be assigned the next available ID number. Thanks once again for a great utility.
September 18, 201411 yr X-Camera .4 crashes XPX 10.30 instantly on my system. No other plugins installed. Logfile just shows it's load the plugin then nothing.. Tried 32 bit and 64 bit both crash it. Steve McNitt
October 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Nice plugin. But not very useful with TrackIR since the roll axis is missing. I just added roll to version 1.o of X-Camera. Thanks for the suggestions. www.StickandRudderStudios.com Same for me unfortunately so ended up deleting both. This had been fixed in 0.5. Slight problem with the way way I was reading TrackIR data. Also just release 1.0, lots of new features including support for LinuxTrack and some cool advanced animations. Check out the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjcHWQdDWLc
October 26, 201411 yr Thanks again for letting us be part of the process and listening to the endusers. Great addon 10/10 Best features: -Head roll implemented -Can enable/disable the TrackIR on a per view basis I know it's not a TIR only plugin but if you have TIR then this is a "must have" Steve McNitt
October 26, 201411 yr Its been mentioned before but i set up my views with the number pad. Maybe not the rite way but this is my way. Make sure the "Number Lock" is on, set up the views by holding down Ctrl and pressing a number and so on so forth. I got TrackIr thinking this would transform my flight experience but it didn't it just made me dizzy and felt less in control. So i went back to old faithful Number pad and are very happy with it. I use TrackIr only for D.C.S
October 28, 201411 yr Thanks for your efforts Mark. Literally the one biggie from FSX I miss all the time in X-Plane is Ezdok. Is there any way to dampen out the mouse view control (when you hold down the right mouse button to look around) so you get those lovely slow cinematic movements as you do in Ezdok? X-Plane has great frame rates on my machine but that isn't flattered by the mouse view, which is only as smooth as I can manage to move the mouse around. Ezdok has the ability to dampen out those movements so even a ham fisted user can glide around as if on rails. Can X-Plane do this? | Ben Weston www.airline2sim.com
