I am all the way for the 777 but coming close on second is the new 747. When I load up the old 747 from PMDG it´s hard not to notice it´s age. The simulation is great, but the visuals are....well....old.

Apart from that the performance of the 747 is also very very bad compared to the MD11 or even the NGX.

t7 and 747-800 v2

Meanwhile I'll be overtaking them all with 230,000lbs of thrust B)

Since the -300er extension isn't coming out for a while, I think you'll be overtaking them with 220,000 lbs of thrust :P

Nope - PMDG said ages ago they've modelled both GE90-110 & 115B engines since some LR's have the 110's and some 115's ^_^ But since you joined in September 2012, you probably missed them saying that.

Learn something new every day! I was always under the impression that the LR was exclusively 110's and the ER was 115's. Which airlines operate both engines on the LR?

I'm not sure which airlines have which exactly - however Boeing does offer both to the customer. I'm interested in how we'll switch between the two. I would have thought it'd either be via the FMC or there will be different models? However doesn't look like they're going to answer much now lol.

I'm sure it will be different models. The MD-11/F has different models for the PW and GE engines. The 744/F has models for the GE, PW, and RR engines.

Seems Ethiopian use the -115B on their LR's too. Seen at 06:32 on the EFB.

P.s. This DVD looks fantastic! Just Planes did it again..

Thanks for the info Luke. PMDG being PMDG, I though they would put the engines on that were on their research plane. But, better to have both

No worries. Well Rob did mention the 77W has already been modelled, so I'm sure it made their life easier doing the -115B with the LR too so they could kill two birds with one stone.

What about the wood pidgeon? :O

Last I heard it was on hold because the programmers working on the g1000 for it is tied up on the T7

I am hanging out for the new V2 ofthe 747. I am currently building my own hardware cockpit and having an SDK or better interfacing than the 747-400X would be a big help.

I know I can go to other providers, but PMDG knocks them dead in "as real as it gets", design and performance.

Cheers,

dH Mosquito please.

OK, only joking but I just saw these videos :)
