Aerosoft add on airports

Featured Replies

The German Airport packages are nice. I love Innsbruck too. Amsterdam is heavy on frames but nice looking. I really enjoy their Luxemburg, flying in and out of the Cargolux hub with the PMDG 747X. So many great airports for Europe just from Aerosoft alone. Flytampa has Vienna and Athens. UK2000 has amazing England airports. Aerosoft also has a few nice France sceneries like the 2 big Paris airports and Barcelona and Madrid in Spain.

Thank you all for the valuable information!

After additional consideration, I have (unfortunately) decided not to pursue Southern Europe. Due to academic commitments, I fly only two days every week, and Central Europe–Greece flights would occupy too much precious time. When Aerosoft Rome is released, however, an arrangement involving Athens, Heraklion, Mykonos, and Olbia would be desirable and more flexible.

I have decided to supplement my existing C. Europe payware airports—Geneva, London Gatwick, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich—with Innsbruck and Nice, thus allowing more route options.

With this decision, I am now considering Dusseldorf, which is conveniently situated in relation to the others, and further expands short and very short route options. I believe it is of high quality, as it is one of the newest Aerosoft airports, but if you believe that there are better options between my existing C. Europe airports and the UK, or have noteworthy experiences with Dusseldorf, please comment.

One airport that I absolutely love to death, is Gibraltar.

I love it too, but as with Athens, its distance from my other payware airports is inconvenient for my purposes. (I also decided that I might be disappointed with the older Aerosoft Balearic Islands / Barcelona, which would have served as intermediate stops.) Also, I should probably prioritize FSUIPC, FTX Global / GEX, Opus, UTX, etc. over these two appealing but somewhat-distant airports.

I wouldn't keep FSDT as a "role model" airport scenery developer any longer, at least performance wise. Their recent Vancouver is among the top-5 worst-performing airports (framerates).

My FlyTampa and FSDT airports allow excellent frame rates. Are the performance issues of Vancouver due to its dynamic shadows?

- All have good framerates, except Orly, which is also in the top-5 worst performing airports.

I thought the patch supposedly improved performance drastically! Paris Orly was Dusseldorf's sole competitor, but I assumed that its age would render it to be the weaker choice.

It all depends Owen, unsure what you mean by it's distance from other payware airports. I fly regularly to Aerosoft's Madrid, Faro, Lisbon, Madeira and to Eiresims Alicante, not to mention Ibiza and Menorca!

To consider as well is the Polish Airport Series . Very nice looking, no impact on frames and together with AES just amazing.

I do as well prefer some of the "smaller" German Airports such as Bremen, Saarbrücken. Erfurt has a lot of potential but is still kind of buggy (will be fixed with the next update) Leipzig looks simply fantastic and gives you the option to taxi over a very well animated highway and railway.

Stuttgart is also good.

Also have a look at the 2 Aerosoft German Airport 2012 packages (2 and 3). For a great price, they have a lot of very good airports (both large and small) as Tegel, Hamburg, Hannover, Koln, Dortmund, Bremen, etc..

...Flytampa and FSDT airports allow excellent frame rates.

Yes, except Vancouver and KJFK, for FSDT.

And except Boston for Flytampa.

I think I've got all Aerosoft airports available. They are a must for flying in Europe (and UK2000 of course). It makes my choice flying from and to any medium to big airport almost endless. I can make short hops and medium to long haul, such as flying from south to north in Germany, Stuttgart to Hamburg for example, or Amsterdam to Palma de Mallorca. And yes the bigger airports have some FPS inpact such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or Paris, but they are indispensable in the Europe aviation with all there different airlines from around the world.

The ones that used the most: Frankfurt (one of the biggest airports of Europe, central location, little bit hard on the frames, mainly caused by al lot of AI planes). Dusseldorf (a lot of charter planes, flying to southern holiday resorts, nicely modelled such as driving trains from the nearby station). Mallorca (big holiday airport, and the whole island covered with photoreal). And one of my favourites Innsbruck, lying between mountains and an awesome approach.

All the airports are very well modelled, do not expect FlyTampa, UK2000, or FSDreamteam quality, but they are just below that.

HAPPY FLYING

The German Regional airports are on sale now. I might give a try to at least one of them, just to see if that would be the way to go. Frankfurt-Hahn, Saarbrucken, Bremen, Erfurt, Maastricht Aachen or Munster/Osnabruck might be the one. Many of you might have one or more of these airports. I don´t want to purchase if they are really hard on frames. In screenshots they all - of course - look good. But which of them are better when you look at the performance?

Bremen is also included in German Airports 3; Munster/Osnabruck also in GA2. Maastricht-Aachen you can also find in Dutch Airports.

My recommendation from the current AS sale would be Friedrichshafen, not based on fps, but on location (scenic: Lake Constance/Alps), overall quality and the amount of eye-candy (immediate airport surroundings, animated objects of all kinds: cars, trains).

Thanks to Kiki for the heads up on the sale, and excellent recommendation Olli. I've only been for a quick 5min spin round the airport and local scenery, but already it's lovely with the nearby mountains and water, really picturesque and a nice airport.

Cheers,

Can you kindly link as I'm currently looking at the Aerosoft Online Shop and cannot see anything related to this. Maybe it's right in front of my eyes and I'm missing it? All I can see are FS2004 discounts.

Edit: Found it.

Edit2: Bought it. Thanks kiki and Oliver.
