Voices from headphones

Featured Replies

Hello.

Is it possible to direct only the RC4 voices to my headset? I am using FS2 CREW and the voices can be directed to the headphones, same with Vox ATC ,but I can not seem to send just the voices of RC4 to my headphones. I have just installed RC4 so I am new to it,but I wanted to ask here before I start making changes to my sound card settings and screwing things up if it is not possible.

Thanks.

Some time ago I used RC4 but this was my workaround: start fsx and start your flight. Than, change the standard output for sound to your headphones and start RC4.

I remember a program called Indie Volume... It allows You to map custom apps with custom sound output. Give it a try!

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

BartEnder, thank you for the "IndiVolume" tip. I downloaded a free trial and it works just perfect. I will buy it!

All the best.

Indie Volume...hmm. Sound interesting as I ended up using two separate PCs for my fix. Any major CPU hit?

I have not seen any performance impact.

Give it a try. You can download it and try it out for 14 days. It is so simple and puts RC4 direct to your headset. It also has it's own volume control,so you can get the sound where you want it and how you want it. I purchased mine the next time I started my computer as it will remind you that it is still not registered, but if you are still not sure just click on "Try" once again and use it some more.

To set it up,just start the program,it will display whatever programs are running,so have RC4 active, select it from the menu, check the" Handled" box, select your headset, and check the" Mute others" box,and then you can set the volume.

Once you set it up,it remains that way so when you start RC4 again, the sound will come out of your headphones without ever having to even think about it again. If you ever want to change it back to your speakers,it should take about 5 seconds.

All the best guys.

I know I can get Vatsim in my headphones using 2 sound cards but can I get RC4 this way? That is can I get RC4 in headphones and engines etc via speakers without using Indie Volume or networking and using WideFS?

Try the demo and let me know also.

The demo works ok as per previous poster. i am after a free solution!!

get a pair of USB Headphones. there is something in the USB, that you can split the sound from your engines (going to your speakers) and everything else..... RC4, Teamspeak 3, FSX ATC going to your USB Headphones. I believe all you have to do is tell the program which device is to be used for what...

no matter what the outcome is, you ARE going to spend some money. It is inevitable, and resistance is futile.

Believe me I have spent some serious money on my sim!!! Using a USB adapter(acts like a second sound card and converts ordinary headphones to USB) I can get default ATC to come through headphones with engines etc through main speakers. Just can't get RC4 to work.
