A new (NGX) version of the wonderful MD-11

I am happy enough I guess with all the textures installed already, but the overhead text is an awesome improvement.

I would sure like having myself some of that :)

Luke, what airport is that?

Thanks

That's FlyTampa Dubai, easily one of the best sceneries around (also brilliant on FPS).

Sweet, I shall take a look, although its not an airport I have flown to.

About 150mb - significantly less once compressed into a .zip/.rar file though.

Just to clarify, this doesn't actually change anything other than the quality of the text, although I did modify a couple of other textures just to suit myself (like the pillar textures, which I found very off putting).

This is what it looks like during the day.

Just thought I'd point that out in case people were getting there hopes up I'd done much more extensive upgrading to the textures.

What Programm did you use?

And did you other Planes too? maybe from other devlopers or freeware?

The go-around/divert CTD mentioned by someone here has a known workaround - if you're aware of it and use it you'll never have the crash again.

Ryan, there are many discussions on this, can you give us correct steps or provide a link or something like that? I'd like to be sure about this

It's not certain they have, as they aren't going to do any more with this project.

Dura Lex sed Lex.

The maxim is "Qui tacet consentire": the maxim of the law is "Silence gives consent". If therefore you wish to construe what my silence betokened, you must construe that I consented.

Silence is the weakest form of consensus.

Wow , That is just awesome.  Text makes a huge difference in just overall appearence even though the underlying is less.

Does this include the PFD and NFD?

Count me in , PMDG permission withstanding.

Doesn't look like it based on the screenshot in post #235 on this page.

pcubine is correct, it doesn't affect the displays at all - I'm pretty sure to give the displays the same treatment would require much more work (i.e. DLL work, which wouldn't be possible, since that would require access to PMDG's source codes)

Personally, I've never really had much of an issue with the displays, I've always thought the resolution was decent enough on them.

Just to give an update. I have PM'd Ryan regarding the textures, so hopefully we'll have a reply from PMDG relatively soon. I know people are anxious to get these textures, but please don't PM Ryan (to make him aware of the thread) as I've just done this

However, don't be overly annoyed at PMDG if they refuse to let it happen - from what I understand there are a few complications with the MD-11 as Lefteris was the lead programmer and is no longer involved with PMDG, so I'm sure if they refuse it's something legally out of their control.

Hopefully we'll find a work-around though, I'll keep you all updated when I hear back.

Nice one Luke,

Although I am not sure he answers PM's.

Out of curiosity, what panels have you done?

All of the panels which has something interactive on it - so pretty much all the panels you'd use. The only exception to this is the FMC, I actually made one for the FMC but the font wasn't as good a match as it is for elsewhere, so I actually don't use the FMC one (I think the default textures on the FMC are pretty readable as they are anyway).

I might redo the FMC one on a different font perhaps, there is still a bit of work that needs to be done anyway (on the throttle quadrant/radios). The screenshot below shows it with the default FMC textures and it doesn't look too out of place.

Also, the entirety of the overhead is done with the exception of the fire-handles (although I may do this eventually)

Colours may look slightly different as I do use ENB mod (and makes the panels far more blue than the default - but I like the effect generally as it also makes the white text stand out better)

For those who don't use ENB, this is what it'll look like.
