September 26, 200421 yr And for the record I do not even know anyone from flight 1 or Dreamfleet. I only know them from their post and never had any personal discussions with anyone from their camp. What is going on here is what always goes on when a developer releases a new aircraft, complaining and developer attacking. And when people who never even post here come to only talk trash on a developer it gets my goat. It's not like they are saying " I do not like this or that" but "they are ignoring my knowledge because I know how a real aircraft should work even though I have never even flew one, we should not expect much for a sim under 50 bucks" and the like. It's the type of posts that stir things up yet you would rather attack me for defending against that. My so called attacking is really just putting a proper perspective on these type of posts. If they have a right to put down I have a right to respond. The guy you mention called me names but you did not mention that now did you? Why is that? What about a chill pill for the ones with desires to make others look bad? I think it's time someone stood up for the folks who spend the time giving us these aircraft. I don't see one add-on from the complainers and by the looks of this latest awesome Cessna I doubt they will catch the quality any time soon. If you don't like an add-on DO NOT BUY IT. If you can do better than produce it insted of attacking on a Avsim's forum. As for real issues, well there is a Flight 1 forum for that...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. September 26, 200421 yr Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. First, I don't have the new 172 and likely won't be buying it. I'm sure its excellent (I have several other Flight1 products and I know them to be a really solid developer and have no doubt the 172 continues that tradition). I just have to limit my expenditures and I'm "holding out" for RealAir's Spitfire. :) But I don't think referring to the 172 as an "entertainment" product in any way suggests that its been fundamentally "dumbed down." I'd imagine if you asked the folks at PMDG they'd describe their 737s as entertainment products too. I see several reasons for this. First, the actual training products are designed to work under very controlled conditions and parameters. Flight1 knows exactly what kind of hardware will be used to run the app and what kind of control devices (likely replicas of the rw stuff) will be used to fly it - and believe me, you can completely change the feel of the flight model by messing around with your controller config. Second, they probably have to refer to it as entertainment only for legal reasons. If they describe the FS9 172 as a "training" app they'd probably open themselves up to potential legal troubles. FS9 is an entertainment product by definition and by extention, any add-on designed to work with it is also an entertainment product.
September 27, 200421 yr Neil, try the alternate (just released) flight model, it may solve the whole issue for you.. it did for me.This may just possibly be system / controller dependent, since not everyone seems to be experiencing this. Bert

September 27, 200421 yr Randy, sounds like you're a hot-head. I'd push away from your computer if I were you, take a nice warm bubbly bath and read something that will soothe your troubled mind. It seems this flightsimming business has got you in a terrible knot.
September 27, 200421 yr Seems like you are too busy with "others" and not worring about what YOU post there pal. Don't give me advice. The only knots are the trouble making folks with nothing better to do than complain about a 25 dollar sim and how it's not perfect, naw I am not the one with the issues...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. September 27, 200421 yr Would you calm down and let the grown-ups talk? Everyone else so far has been civil up to the point where you started going off on people. Thank you! :)
September 27, 200421 yr For heavens sake, we are talking about a $25 addon, and a $50 sim, what on earth do people expect to get?Use the products in the way they are supposed to be used, for entertainment, neither the sim or the addons are acredited training apps.Go fly a real plane if you want realism, can't understand what all the #### is about.Dan.
September 27, 200421 yr Why spend money when you can download FOR FREE the Kangan Batman TAFE Cessna 172 from RealAir? The exterior model isn't anything to write home about and the interior is bog standard MS FS2004 BUT the handling is about as close as you get to a 172 as is possible in MSFS (and the model from RealAir is being used by Kangan Batman TAFE in basic groundschool training).I guess if you want pretty pictures then spend $24.95.But if you want about the best 172 simulator available for FS download I would highly recommend the RealAir 172 model.RegardsAdam
September 27, 200421 yr I have had both and I liked both. I had a computer crash and lost my flight 1 model and don't really want to purchase again so probably won't have it anymore. It is a good one tho in my opinion. Don
September 27, 200421 yr Commercial Member Don,Just go to the Flight1.com customer service site and you can be back up and running. We NEVER tell people to repurchase a title if they lose their key.Check the site. Thanks, Steve Halpern Flight One Software
September 27, 200421 yr Folks:Flight1 offers a full refund for anyone who is not happy with the product. If you are that upset by it, why not take advantage of that? ORGo to the Flight1 support forums and give them some constructive feedback? They are very responsive (they even come here to help people even though they should not have to). I have to say, that threads like these are becoming all too common. What would someone coming to this site for the first time think if this was the first thread they came across? ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

Got ya all worked up. Anything sets you off including a critique of a little computer plane. Any other things set you off? Wind blowing the wrong way? Clothes not folded properly? Lol!
