1 Boston terror suspect Killed, another on the run.

Gonna be some party's in that city this weekend! Hangovers, babies conceived, high fives everywhere.......

Bartenders will make out like bandits.

The people will reclaim their streets with a vengeance, to celebrate, and release their tension.

But that's the problem of terrorism.  One off the streets still leaves dozens (or more) to take their place.  The ultimate solution will need to be more proactive and less reactive.  Still, glad the good old USofA got both of them and that star spangled banner does yet wave!

So glad to see the guys I have worked with and supported on a daily basis for the last 3 years at Boston Police, Fire, EMS, and Mass State Police literally applauded like a world championship winning sports team as they left the scene...

All the leaders and department heads and etc are stepping up to the podium to take a bow and give thanks, and for me the bemusement and slight sense of unreality deepens a bit. It really is like the closing credits of a movie......

Did they really use a helicopter to confirm the heat image of the bloodied suspect hiding in a tarp covered boat in somebody's back yard? How Hollywood can you get?

President Obama will be speaking soon apparently, and over the next few months we will all wait for the final epilogue/denouement.

No sequels, please!

And congrats again to all who worked so hard to track down and catch the perpetrators.

Wonderful news to end such a terrible tragedy.

God bless the Boston Police Department and all the law enforcement and emergency services that participated and all of them that keep us safe every day.

I'm so glad to see all areas of law enforcement working so well together for the good of civil safety.

My hat is off to all of these highly trained, yet under paid public servants, who put themselves on that battle front everyday.

This is part of today's life and media, good or bad.  I don't blame anyone for having some sense of pride or joy over the capture of the two suspects.  Yes, it seems unreal.  But people need an outlet to release the roller coaster of tension of the last several days other than staring at the violence of what happened.  Don't question whether they really used a helicopter--it makes you come across like a conspiracy theorist which I doubt, but I feel that's the tone of such a comment.

I think the FBI and authorities did a pretty decent job unraveling all of this before these two suspects fled the country for good.  I don't think these two were as intelligent as their family said to hang around Boston.  They seemed blinded by their arrogance and hatred.  I am also heartened to hear that the Miranda rights won't apply to the second suspect, if he lives, due to the danger these two's actions presented.  No lawyer present.  He will have tough questions to answer and I hope hours of interrogation until he breaks down.  I don't believe, neither does my wife, that these two kids acted alone.  But that's just a guess.

As for closing credits of a movie--I doubt that.  This will be a long investigation that will involve cell phone records, internet records, checks for prior unsolved robberies possibly committed by these two, and so on.

Possibly--one thing about forum posts vs. face to face conversation, sometimes it's hard to get things in the right context.  Sorry if I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

Boy you hit the nail on the head with that statement! If you are innocent then yhave nothing to worry about all! Some freedoms have to be given up in order to protect the people.

I refuse to let the terrorists win by giving up my freedoms that many people have died to protect. If I get killed by a terrorist's bomb or bullet so be it but atleast I died a free man! Do I fear them not the least bit if I do then they met their goal and have won. Never give up your rights for any reason or you'll end up living in a ###### style police state.....your papers please

20 bucks that this might become the basis of some movie later on

I don't think I'd watch it.  Revisiting these things just makes them linger on.  I stayed away from all the 9/11 movies and I tend to stay away from "cops catching the bad guys" types of movies.  I used to watch them but I realized I dwelt to much on watching the crime, and it made it hard to forget what I saw.  Some exceptions though--I always watch "The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford when they play it.  It's an entertaining movie and I feel Harrison Ford is really the actor of my generation, just like John Wayne might have been for earlier generations.  And "Witness" was also a good movie. But both were fiction.  Movies that cover terrorist attacks or manhunts are just too much for me.  I tend to prefer movies that are futuristic, fantasy, and of course, anything with aviation always catches my attention. :smile2:

I rather have a lot of security cameras in cities and limit people from obtaining weapons if that makes streets safer. Unless you live in an area with near total anarchy (like some parts of Africa) you have already given up some freedoms in exchange for safety.

I'm glad they caught this terrorist alive so we will learn more about their motives.

I agree with you on making weapons harder to get I'm a gun owner but I don't need nor feel the need to have a fully automatic Ak47 to defend my home from a robber or robbers.

No need to turn this into a gun debate

These guys had a real smart getaway plan...gee let's stay in the city where we just killed people and our faces are plastered everywhere.  BRILLIANT!!!  Within minutes I would have been high tailing it out of there in a vehicle towards an airport somewhere with tickets to the other side of the globe.  Little late now boys.  Serves 'em right.
