For me, it was the Foxtrot, Samba and Rumba. I attended the U.S. Embassy's "Junior Cotillion" while living in Tehran, Iran back in the early sixties. :lol:

 

 

If I'm not mistaken, the older brother had an IED on him, what more proof does the family need.

 

Not to mention that the guy whose car they jacked told police the brothers admitted to him they were the Marathon bombers. Amazing that they let him go unharmed. Also amazing that not one of Jahar's friends had a single bad thing to say about him. They and his high school wrestling coach all describe him as a real stand-up kid. Seems he was radicalized pretty quickly.

 

Five dead, many seriously scarred for life, and if the younger brother isn't dead already, he probably soon will be. What on earth was accomplished by any of this? It's just so pathetically senseless.

 

It seems to me the older brother that had influence over the little brother and side tracked him from the right path with his radical views! I didn't hear anything negative of the little brother from his friends,but the older brother is a mystery, other than the fact he is a boxer. I read somewhere he posted that he didn't have any American friends. I wonder if that set him off!

That is what I would think as well. Similar to the Sniper case (John Allen Muhammad) and his 17 year old son that he took his son along on that shooting rampage a few years back.

One thing I predict from all of this.  More and more communities will install video cameras--perhaps in every streetlight.  So when there's an incident such as a robbery or violent crime, suspects can be tracked.  Is it a violation of our privacy?  I don't think so.  No one is interested in tracking all that data unless some type of foul play is involved.  It's no more a violation of my privacy than driving by a patrol officer or getting video taped in an airport or my office.

I always felt that with security camera's, if you don't do anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about anyways. If anything it would prove a law abiding citizen is innocent when they happen to be within a vicinity of a crime (they wouldn't have to prove anything).

Boy you hit the nail on the head with that statement! If you are innocent then yhave nothing to worry about all! Some freedoms have to be given up in order to protect the people.

In olden times it was just neighbors sitting on the front porch and gossiping. Kids could play safely on the street because eyes were watching everywhere, and everyone knew everyone else.

 

No-one was up in arms then about the "loss of freedom" that represented.

 

Surveillance cams are just the modern-day equivalent, only more objective.

 

I think it would be safest to stay on topic. I really don't want the thread to become a surveillance debate when opposing viewpoints weigh in.

There are now reports that the suspect is in custody and alive. :-)

They got him, and he is alive! The people of Boston get some justice! Great work to all the law enforcement involved!
