pmdg 737 better than 747?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

her some thoughts sharing concerning the PMDG 747-400 and the PMDG 737-800:

- I have been flying the 747-400 almost 6 months and the 737- just one week ago and have notice straight away that the pmdg really invested more time on developing the 737 in comparison to the 747. Overall from my experience, the 737 has a lot more animations! for example:

- all the work they did with the FMC (gound connections, door controls, fuel setting) - while on the 747 is done with a menu.

- overal animations such as: lighting

- displays: on the 737 the terrain can be considered - while on the 747 this option is not available (why not?)

- among others...

however, from my experience the 747 does not reduce the FPS as much as the 737 and there is no so much graphic overload as in the 737...

they a both top products! but I did see a big difference in the development from both!

They weren’t developed at the same time, they were years apart.

It’s like any craft really. If you make something today it’s going to be better than yesterdays but not as good as tomorrows

It's apples and pears to compare them.

The 737ngx is almost two years, whereas the 747 was originally designed for FS2004.

It's very difficult to put weight to compare them

The 747 2.0 will probably be the best add-on they ever make with Rob's enthusiasm around the aircraft. Those things mix well with aircraft development! I'm sure Rob wants to absolute best from 2.0 just like I want the best out of the 777 (-;

The NGX will always be known for years to come - since to me, it changed flight simulation for everyone.

Welcome to Flight Simming. I hope you have years of fun ahead of you.

Thanks,

Thanks, Ron Fields

We're going to be spoiled for choice come the end of 2013...PMDG NGX, 777, maybe the 744v2. Majestic Q400, LDS 757, hopefully FSL A320. This year is a good year for flight simming.

Hopefully FSL 320!! Now we have a top NGX i'm only missing a PMDG quality Airbus.

Where have you been for the last decade? the 747 is verry old the NGX is new and has broken through many previous obstacles in fsx. The 747 2.0 will adopt the new technology PMDG have developed and better

LDS 757 this year, really? I think FSL will finish the entire Airbus family before we see that one released.

Yep, one of the LDS devs posted on AVSim somewhere. I'm on my phone so I can't find it at the moment.

That's rather a surprise, given how famously quiet they are.  You'd have thought any such news would be on their own site.

edit: I've found the posts you mentioned.  Interesting stuff.  There are positive hints in their own forum too, something Daryl had previously avoided doing.  Thanks for the heads-up.
