777 - personalizing menu

Featured Replies

This following thread reminded me of something -

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/408452-777-technical-question/

I was wondering whether this particular feature (and other features in the same way) be on an equipment menu via the fmc similarly to the NGX? I have noticed in the previews that the para visual display was not modeled, but I think it would be a very interesting little feature to have. See it just above the FO PFD -

I do not own this photo. Source - http://www.flickr.com/photos/72226765@N00/3087090446/

Is that even possible in FSX? Surely that'd take some hard labour to get working. Not sure I'd use it if I'm honest.

Do you mean the para visual display itself or the menu? I imagine that the menu would be available anyway,as it was in the NGX, but there again who am I to predict!

Why not, it's a very simple device. It's relying on tuned ILS signal.

No I meant the Para Visual Display ha.

I don't know - I was literally asking the question whether it's possible or not lol. However if they're as close to completion as we all assume, I doubt they'd hold it completely up to implement this. We'll await Ryan's response.

Why would it not be possible? Heck even WX radar is possible (Majestic Q400). I would be very surprised if PMDG wouldn't program this feature.

Someone knows if the PVD (Para-Visual-Display) is an airline option or is it installed on every 777? Would be a very nice feature to have it in the flightsim x.

Doesn't seem popular on the 777's at all. Ruins the glareshield if you ask me (-;

I've only seen it on BA's 772's - either it's not visible, but looks to me as it's been removed from this BA:

Not used on air Canada's or emirates' 200 LRs, So it is not a standard. As for PMDG 777, I prefer if it is not already available NOT to delay their plans to include it, if in anyway could be done on a later stage with an sp.

No offense intended, but regarding majestic's weather radar, did you try to fly through a yellow or a red zone? You cannot,I don't see majestic or any fsx weather radar depicts the real thing, it is not possible.....yet

Steve

So if it is not standard on the T7, I don't need it.

As far as I realized through our development on the Citation X at ESDG-the weather programs for FSX, even the WX generators such as Active Sky etc, cannot accurately reproduce the weather in such a manner that a Doppler type radar inside the aircraft or ADS-B could show anything reasonable. Its just for effects and not for realism, because it does NOT accurately work. I personally believe that is why the WX radar was left out of the NGX and subsequently out of newer releases, but I cannot speak for PMDG.

Yep, I would prefer no barber pole to a fake barber pole any day ;)

Well they did say so much themselves. No WXR until realistic WXR is possible (Maybe in one of those fabled X-Plane ports? :) Honestly I have no idea whether X-Plane can do it.)
