August 9, 201312 yr Hi, I was just wondering what's the longest nonstop flight a pilot might attempt in a Cessna 182 taking "bathroom needs" into consideration? I just flew my Carenado 182 from KAVP to Sporty's I69 in 3 hours 10 min. nonstop but it got me wondering if I would do it for real without a break. Thanks. Tom
August 9, 201312 yr Well, you can buy one of these since you're there at Sporty's already and it won't be an issue. http://www.sportys.com/PilotShop/product/13087 And also this http://www.sportys.com/PilotShop/product/13088
August 9, 201312 yr I've flown with passengers in fair weather for 3 hours in a 172 without problems. If you're a healthy individual that is well hydrated and hasn't eaten anything they should avoid (salty, greasy, gassy, carb heavy, carbonated drinks) several hours before the flight I wouldn't expect nature calls to be a problem. I wouldn't ask non-pilot passengers to go longer than that without a break because they generally get less engaged as the flight goes on and they will need a break. I know that I can easily go from KEWR to KYVR without a bio break as I go there for business a couple of times each year. Sticking to water and trail mix before and during a flight works well for me. I find that on longer flights my headset will sometimes become uncomfortable because my sunglasses get pinched between my ears and head. I also find that my eyes get tired if there is a lot of haze.
August 9, 201312 yr Longest would most likely be a ferry flight. They have the option of installing ferry tanks in the cabin which extend the range considerably and therefore allowers quicker paths to take when for example delivering a 182 from Continental USA to Australia. August 10, 201312 yr Flew a 182 TC RW from NYC to Cali back in 2007/08 ish. Can't remember how many stops we made though. Was a four day trip. Also, when my buddies company ferried three Vulcan Airs from Cali to Hawaii, for bathroom needs, number 2 namely, let's just say lots of tupperware was brought on board. And the entire plane was gutted and fitted with very large fuel tanks. I didn't want to tag along for that flight. August 10, 201312 yr I did a flight from YSBK, touch 'n' go at YMND, touch 'n' go at YSCO and back to YSBK in a clapped out Warrior (VH-PDR) on a stinking hot, muggy Sydney day with 3 POB as a pre-PPL test... It took 4 hours - NEVER AGAIN! lol Also, a friend of mine ferried a C150 from Perth to Sydney for a flight school once with another guy, it took them almost a week. D.C.
August 10, 201312 yr A good friend flew a C185 from YBBN to AYPY, made 4 refueling stops, took him about 20 hours, he had to be carried off the cockpit. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2 Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict

Tom Always look to Alaska Bush flights for great examples of what your asking here. Speaking of flying small Cessna flights across the USA or AUS, the times posted here in this thread aren't that much better than driving in a car. That can't be right...
