August 9, 201312 yr But you're still getting the 777? So what? There simply can't be any difference between fly-by-wire!!! He wants to say that because the "easy AP engagement" option is available at NGX, it will be at T7 too. Luke had started pulling my leg even before EADS/Airbus was founded ... What happened to AVSIM
August 9, 201312 yr Have you ever flown a PMDG Boeing before? They all operate more or less the same. I remember someone telling me back in the days.. learn the 747 and you'll learn all the other sims  Imho you don't even need the manual, you can watch some tutorial flights on youtube and you can try having fun discovering how the aircraft functions by yourself. I more or less did that with the 747. Fun times.
August 9, 201312 yr It's a complex aircraft however it's a modern aircraft, not like trying to do the work of 3 on a steam aircraft with only VOR nav.
August 9, 201312 yr The 777 was made by pilots, for pilots. It's much less intimidating than the 737 in my opinion. Take some time to study and practice! - Luke Pabari

August 10, 201312 yr Need to rack up some hours with the VA to get promoted so I can fly the T7 Hmm, yeah that is precisely the reason I dont bother with VAs: I refuse to be dictated as to what jet I can fly. A shame, since otherwise I would like to give it a go.
August 10, 201312 yr Author Minor bug bear to me, it gives my flight simming some purpose. I was against it initially too but times change :-) only 80 hours to get to captain and fly the 777 Besides in the mean time I'll be flying the 777 in my own time as well, learning the flight deck and procedures to be proficient when I get to fly it with my VA
August 10, 201312 yr Thread derail: anybody know of VAs where I can fly the jet I choose from the get-go?

August 10, 201312 yr to the OP these are the facts. If you can rotate and hold a straight line for a 1000ft after that you will never need to do anything else until you need to land and dont worry you wont need to bother with that either until your screaming down the runway where you will need to activate spoilers and reverse thrust. Driving a car is much harder. to be able to land you will need to learn about the ILS and your Autopilot. The above is not ideal but for a newbie spending a $100 it will keep you motivated while you dig deeper into the systems ZORAN

Not all VA's are like that though. Just need to pick the right ones! Kind regards Werner Gillespie CYB2400Proud member of Cyber Air Virtual AirlinesAVSIM Staff Member

You don't have reset the MCP, set the altimter, turn on landing lights, lower flaps, lower landing gear? All of this is automatic? Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
