Man this looks incredible, so just to get this straight the clouds will not be billboard clouds like FSX they will still retain there 3D depth like default X-Plane clouds? Thats the best part about xplane clouds when you fly through them you actually feel like your in a cloud rather than fsx you feel like your flying through a 2d image

Ah yes, Blender.  I remember working with that tool a bit.  But seriously, I wonder what a mountain scene would look like with X-Plane's water and lighting along with the crepuscular rays that are possible with Skymaxx.  I would really be curious to see how that would render.

Let me put something together ;)

Will this be a one-off product or will you be regularly adding stuff? If so what are some of your plans?

In version 2 we were going to add a monkey with a lisp, an angry dwarf, and 3 pelicans with a limp.....

But seriously Our focus right now it getting this product out, and working through all the issues so we have a successful add-on which will lead to updates in the future.

We are going to have a through and long testing cycle and try to make this as bulletproof as possible.  But you know how that goes and we will probably have a few updates to fix those issues.....

Once we have a stable and successful system we will look into expanding on it or create a product line....

Or a Zombie Apocalypse mod, maybe called Z-Plane?

Appreciate you've got your hands full with getting the current build out the gates but anything you can tell us about the future at all? Sky colours, water textures etc?

I dont want to get ahead of myself but there is a way to have a procedurally drawn sky which would lead to proper stars, moon phases, and sun placement.  We would be able to change sky colors using a slider instead of  editing a PNG this would give us an unlimited amount of skies to choose from........ Problem is we cant configure that to work with X-Plane since the datarefs are not there to do so.......We are working with Ben Supnik so cross your fingers, and this a request has been made to him....

There will be 3 different cirrus textures to choose from and 6 different sky colors(if we use the default system) worked into the plan now.....

Again the water isn't available in the SDK(I really want to tackle this).......Our success will leverage any changes we request from Laminar in the future so it is important for us to show them how important this add-on is to the community.....That means not everybody buy our product, but having the community say, you can't live without this.....

This is your product not mine, I am bringing you what you want ;) The reason why I perused this project is because, although I mostly lurk, I pay attention to the community and their needs.....

Ok after this enough goofing off but I wanted to repost this image to make it more accurate......

So the zombies are a no go then? Sigh, back to DayZ I go...

Your plans look good and I like your style of actively getting feedback from the community. It's disappointing the water can't be changed in the current sdk so good luck with that. Different colours / fresh water ino salt water transitions etc. are an important part of the realism for me. As you know REX offer clouds, sky, water, taxiways, and a weather engine and they're rumoured to be looking at XP10 so you'll need to wow us. So far doing a good job, and good luck for the future.

Thank you so much for putting that together.  This is the type of visual statement that will really turn heads in the direction of X-Plane and SkyMAXX as a must have product as well as motivate more third party action.  This is exceptional.

Yeah I don't think it is fair to compare apples to oranges here.......And we are not worried....

Your screenshot looks most inviting, many thanks.

Looking forward to seeing more of SkyMaxx Pro in action.
