Looks good but FPS seems a bit low in places. Just posted on the Youtube vid so hopefully he'll address. Also happy to see the word 'crepuscular' again, had forgotten about that:)

this dev is also making a "Seasons Addon"

Interesting, but I'd swear some of those clouds were turning in the sky like windmills which looks a little strange.

Looks like everyone's trying to fix XP10 except the LR devs! (Sorry couldn't resist)

This was addressed on X-Pilot, as I pointed out the same.

As it turns out, the video render was sped up to a large degree, which caused this effect. The actual product has clouds that shift and change shape, and rotation is a part of that but not well depicted in the video due to the speed up. More vids will come, I'm sure. :)

Clouds have some weird rotations in RL too :-)

These look awesome!

See!  And now that everyone was feeling blue about the absence of good news, as if the release of the Carenados updates, the LES dc-3, the upcoming Saab 340, promisses of a Citation, weren' t already good news!!!!

We are a bunch of dogs sometimes.... (does this sound right in english ?...)

Interesting ! I don't like how the clouds spin...

I want to see some supercell clouds in XPX !!!

I can see the accelerated spinning in the video is already being noticed as a flaw.  If you look at the scene with the windsock this properly represents the effect, but like any other program the settings can be changed to the end users preference.

Adding "cloud rotation speed" to the UI is on the whiteboard.  I am aiming to make this add-on as scalable and customizeable for the end user. Thnaks for the input guys, believe it or not you all are part of the development team....

Performance is actually pretty good so far, but we are sitting on top of the default cloud system.  I am using transparent PNG's to mask them.  This still creates a performance hit but once we can properly "kill" the default clouds we will see a huge gain.....

That does look promising. I just hope it does a better job on the frame rates than the default clouds do. If I want decent FPS in X-Plane, I normally have to keep the weather clear or scattered clouds.

Edit:

Count me in, once you've done this. That's fantastic news

I will leave judgement until I've had a chance to try this out, but it sounds like bit of a fudge to get around the default weather.

Is it not possible to disable XP10 weather and clouds and place your new clouds according to NOAA metars or something?

Great news!   :applause:

I've got a long needle here!

Not what I would call a fudge but working with the platform. We are going to work with the default engine and real world weather, which works well and has plenty of options. I don't see a need to reinvent the wheel here.

Of course guys this is the add-on in alpha right now. When it is time for a release, we will not stumble and I understand any skepticism right now...
