747 - 100

Featured Replies

Hi

Is there the slightest chance that PMDG will ever do 747 dash 100 or 200.

747 from the seventies with ins, steam gauges and all those knobs and switches, that would be something ...

FSX is poor with those magnificent birds from early jet era.

Artur

I think no, I'd like too. If you want similar jet you haveto look at 747-200/300 by CLS.

Ready for pushback 747 is very good systems wise & it is free. I still have the huge book that came with the original boxed version.

the RFP was awesome back in the days...too bad it doesnt work in FSX...or can be somehow mangled with a proper VC

PMDG have announced so far:

- a T7 release (with a likely post-release 'clean-up')

- a 744 v2.0

- a NGX SP2

- a DC-6

For any further projects to be released it'll take years - not sure, we'll still be talking about FSX at that point in time ...

What happened to AVSIM

Many have voiced they want this beast, sadly no official announcement from any company.

Coming off the Captain Sim sale, I have way too many planes now to fly anyway so I'm no longer itching for other projects.

:-) I understand you, I stop with 757, I was tempted with 777.....

Is there anyway the chance to get RFP in FSX? merging panel with others addon?

I'd hate to have one of those "classic" airliners. It's very difficult to fly single-handedly, what with the engineer's panels, old-style navigation systems, etc. Just my point of view.

There's always the ability to have an auto flight-engineer - Similar to what FSLabs did with their concorde.

Whilst I would love to see a Classic 747 in my hangar, I just don't see it being viable for a developer such as PMDG. Their time can be better spent on other projects especially with aircraft that are seen at airports - Which is what they seem to be aiming for.

Or have a classic 747 retrofitted with an FMC and ND ;) Ive flown that in real world. It's amazing and surprisingly easier ;)

Yep, many were retrofitted with Universal FMS' and EADI/EHSI. Pretty neat.

Atlas also had the Penny & Giles EIDS (Engine Instrument and Display System).

Since they're reaching back in time to make the DC-6, I would say an older 747 is in the realm of possibilities.  IIRC, in one of Rob's videos from a conference somewhere, he mentioned how much he loved the 747 line.  Since the 744 is getting a v2, one could hope we hear 4 big JT9D's powering a PMDG 747-100 version someday.

Wonder what that's off. DC10? L1011? 727?

I posted a similar thread not too long ago (although it was for the dash 200 and 300.) I too, would enjoy a classic 747. Also, I do not understand why devs. won't create one, because obviously there is quite a large market for it.

That's what makes it fun!
