September 12, 201312 yr Christopher, I use My traffic X and it seems to work OK. One of my complaints is how VOX handles AI traffic. You'll see plenty of traffic on the ground, but once you're airborne the amount of enroute traffic is negligible. Once you're on approach, you will see some traffic, but not as much as you might expect at a major airport. That being said, Vox is still my favorite ATC program.
September 13, 201312 yr Christopher, there are many threads in this forum about AI traffic and how Vox handles it. Perhaps you start with this one: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/411876-traffic-add-ons/?hl=%2But2#entry2700811 Regards, Andreas Gutzwiller
September 13, 201312 yr MyTraffic X or UT2? Which is the easiest to set up with VoxATCX? I would probably recommend mytrafficX, I am not really happy with the way vox works with UT2. On a side note I am not really pleased with Vox at all right now. Can't get it to recognize any flightplans since getting the 777 and I have no clue why. Used to work fine with the 737.

September 13, 201312 yr Works fine with the T7. Something else must have changed on your system ... The panel shows up fine, but its not reading the flight plan. I haven't done anything other than adding the 777 aircraft. Its quite possible that I am not saving the flight plan to the correct file or something, but fsx has the flight plan and vox knows my destination but it switches it from an ifr to vfr flight. I used to use EFB so now that I am doing everything manually I could easily be doing something out of order, but when I follow the posted instructions it doesn't work.

Does Vox follow a VFR flightplan or no flightplan at all? (only the traffic circuits options shown) I get the traffic pattern when I load my flightplan "too late", after Vox has tried to read it already. Try to load your flightplan immediately from the "Fly now!" screen, before hitting the button to see whether your issue persists. What happened to AVSIM
September 14, 201312 yr red 259, the title of this thread is "Best AI package to use with VoxATC". Start a new thread, don't attach "side notes" to an existing one. Regards, Andreas Gutzwiller
September 14, 201312 yr Back to the question of the OP: @red259:"I would probably recommend mytrafficX, I am not really happy with the way vox works with UT2." As far as integration with Vox is concerned: I'm not happy with any of them (and not very happy with Vox's own AI traffic). As far as I know Vox cannot really use MTX generated traffic, it just uses its planes for its own (Vox's) ai traffic, if in FSX you put the traffic sliders to 0. If you put the FSX sliders to anything else than 0 MTX will also generate AI traffic (controlled by FSX). You will see this traffic but Vox will not interact with it. Regards, Andreas Gutzwiller
September 14, 201312 yr Author Installed MTX and love it. The models arent great but VOX directs them well. No idea if the schedules are correct though! Also when I was flying out of VHHH I was behind a 474 on the runway entry point but VOX asked me to line up. Obviously I couldnt go round! Another thing is taxi instructions. The taxi lights are great and they seem to change to direct me around traffic. But VOX doesnt keep up with them and alter my taxi instructions.
September 14, 201312 yr I use WOAI no probs at all and Vox calls out each carrier correctly by name. That was the case until the T777, now Vox atc has completely broken down in every area and rei installing doesn't work. Sent off an email yeserday ZORAN
September 14, 201312 yr I tried UT originally, but there were too many issues. My biggest complaint was the lack of any cargo AI, such as UPS and FedEx. They both have a major presence at EWR and JFK, which are my local airports. I know there are ways to add cargo carriers, but it seemed like too much bother. That and all those 'Daedalus' or whatever they were called. In any case, I now use My Traffic Pro. It's not perfect, but definitely acceptable. The models aren't as refined as UT, but then again my framerates are better with My Traffic. VoxATC also doesn't use schedules, so there is no benefit to UTs real-world schedules. One really weird problem I have is that sometimes the AI a/c next to me will 'flip' around at the gate. I also use GSX, and when I approach an empty gate and request that gate thru GSX, the a/c at the adjacent gate will flip around at some odd angle. Weird, huh? September 16, 201312 yr No matter which AI package you use, VOXATC use personal unrealistic generated traffic, very few airlines repeted in every airport. Today I start my fly from LUKK (Chisanu - Moldavia) and the airport was plenty by only SAS aircrafts (swedish company) not really present on this airport. This is the only lack of this great program. September 17, 201312 yr In any case, I now use My Traffic Pro. How does VoxAtc know to use your MyTraffic aircraft? Is there some parameter that tells it to use the MyTraffic aircraft folder? I'm using UTII via UTIIBridge, but its schedules and liveries are getting more and more behind the real world. I created my own schedules for FedEx and UPS, but can't see how to get UtBridge to use them - I've sent Tegwyn an email asking about this. Petraeus
September 17, 201312 yr How does VoxAtc know to use your MyTraffic aircraft? Is there some parameter that tells it to use the MyTraffic aircraft folder? There is a line added to your fsx.cfg. When you run the indexer Vox will then pick up the new MyTraffic folder and use those a/c as it's AI. Nothing else required by you to get it working. I'm using UTII via UTIIBridge, but its schedules and liveries are getting more and more behind the real world. I created my own schedules for FedEx and UPS, but can't see how to get UtBridge to use them - I've sent Tegwyn an email asking about this. That's funny, I tried doing the exact same thing. Created my own FedEx and UPS schedules, downloaded the proper a/c, installed them into UT. Then trying to get Vox to recognize them. Same result you're having, unfortunately. I also contacted Tegwyn, he looked into it and told me UTBridge can't recognize any additional traffic added to UT. So that was that. I moved to MyTraffic Pro and I've been mostly happy, with the caveats I mentioned.
