I don't know what to do right now.

You can go fly a kite, walk the dog, clean the toilets, feed the homeless or go to bed?

As for the DA40, I just fly it for the speed.  It gets me to the destination a little faster

LOL, a DA40 for the speed.  good one!

haha - yeah, sad, I know.  But of the fleet available, it's the cheapest to get to the destinations.  There are faster ones, but their hourly isn't worth it (speed doesn't offset the increase in cost).

As we are all so interested in what everyone is doing, I have my 777 going through 55 minute ground operations (first time trying this feature) while I am downstairs eating breakfast and enjoying this forum with a nice cup of tea.

I can just about tolerate Facebook.... at least it has a few dimensions to it;  Photos, updates, links to stuff, etc....

Twitter is the biggest Pile of ***** to have emerged on the web in the last 15 years;    A tool of the "me me me me me me me" generation IMHO.

Twitter Meh!  ...... more like Tw*tter!

I think that if people want to use social media, that's fine. And if people don't want to use social media, that's fine.  I use both FS9 and FSX.  But I don't like jazz or beetroots. My wife likes them, but we have 'an understanding'.  I think I've posted enough nonsense for today :-)  Have a good day everyone :-)

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

To me, Facebook just seems to be an endless stream of bumper stickers, refrigerator magnets, cute animal pics and erroneous re-posts.

It didn't start out that way. It got annoying over the past few years especially around election time.

It's all about the centralization of our ego;  actual genuine socialization is decreasing and instead we have a 'social' interaction with pixels on the screen, carefully planning and presenting our 'self' to the world.

To be fair if I was 19 I'd probably love FB and Twitter.   As it is, I think back to my childhood in the 80s, that involved some video games (Commodore 64, Atari), but also a BMX bike, a football, lot's of real 'friends', Star Wars, chasing some girls, and a lot of fresh air ..........

.......and I think that life for the younger Facebook generation is just so banal and shallow.    .... I genuinely feel sorry for them.

It could be an ego issue or the fact that nothing is private anymore. People feel the need to shout when they eat, what they eat and where they eat. Tell people when they are using the can or drinking. It's actually quite silly.

haha - it was a joke.  Twitter is used to broadcast random updates to your "followers."

It's morphed into more than that these days. Not just random updates.

Full scale debates, despite the 140 word limit.

LOL yeah I was just joking around!  I hear you though, I fly what gets me there the fastest and the cheapest when I'm paying.  When i'm not though, uncle sam pays for the fuel and flight time in a UH60!

I dont need to know (nor care) what all these people are doing 24-7.

Twitter is like that, but I wouldn't say the same about Facebook. Many people only post when they are doing something of importance, sharing a photo from a cool place they went, or just keeping up with distant family/friends.
