September 18, 201312 yr You're welcome matey. The SkyHighSim Belgrade is not at the same quality as the LH Simulations, or the Taxi2gate offerings (but neither is the price ), but it's good enough for the 10 euro price tag, and fantastically better than default FSX. LH Simulations and Drzewiecki Designs are at FlyTampa standards, and the Taxi2gate stuff is close but maybe one notch down IMHO. Thanks for the feedback! When Aerosoft release Prague my life will be complete! Just bought it, and Krakow which is on offer. Hopefully, I can take the T7 into Budapest. Hope to see Budapest in real-life when I visit Poland again, next summer. Sounds great! I tossed a coin several years ago to decide whether to go to Prague or Budapest and the coins decided on Prague. Would definitely like to go to Budapest one day!
September 18, 201312 yr Hey Olli - When I was using Aerosoft Mega Airport Budapest I found the photo image of the city a real frame rate hog; surprisingly more so than the airport itelf. As you'll know the airport and the photoimage have different entries in the Scenery Library and when I deactivated the Budapest photoimage I got a fantastic frame boost. So my point being, if you are still using the Aerosoft Budapest photo image with the LH Simulations LHBP, you are probaby seeing a FPS penalty from the Aerosoft photoimage. I am using only the LH Simulations LHBP now (with FTXG taking care of the surrounding area which it does quite well), and have fantastic frames - very on par with FlyTampa. In fact if you looked at this airport and didn't know who had made it, you would swear it was FlyTampa IMHO. Please, can you point me to the .bgl in question? Its in the CIty file, isn´t it?
September 18, 201312 yr I have also disabled the Aerosoft Budapest City photo image, because I prefer the effect of FTX Global, and I also found it to be a huge drain on FPS.
September 18, 201312 yr Please, can you point me to the .bgl in question? Its in the CIty file, isn´t it? Yep, in the city scenery folder: 4 large photo.bgl's. What happened to AVSIM
September 18, 201312 yr Please, can you point me to the .bgl in question? Its in the CIty file, isn´t it? They are located in :- C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\aerosoft\Mega Airport Budapest\LHBP_CITY\scenery and the photoimage files, that seem to zap the frame rates are :- budapest_photo_1.bgl budapest_photo_2.bgl budapest_photo_3.bgl budapest_photo_4.bgl budapest_photo_night.bgl .......with those deactivated, the Aerosoft LHBP airport itself is frame rate friendly. But any real Budapest fan needs to pick up the LH Simulations version. I went to Budapest in 1999. I loved the place. It was a lot less commercialized and tourist-orientated than Prague IMHO. In 1999 a bottle of Bulls Blood (famous Hungarian Wine) in a really nice restaurant was around 30 pence!!! (around 45c).
September 19, 201312 yr Ok, thank you. Found them. I've been a travel guide in Prague for a short period and its a different city if stay out from the beautiful old town. We called it "disneyland". Can't compare it with Budapest, Prague is the most exciting city in the world.
September 19, 201312 yr Glad to hear you like the scenery. Some points regarding LH Simulations LHBP and GSX/AES: In regard to moving jetways, GSX and AES are fundamentaly different. The biggest difference being that the AES is tailormade for each airport, by Aerosoft directly, allowing the developer some leeway, saving time and resources on making the default-style animated jetways. Instead the animation is made by Aerosoft, and a static model is swapped for the animated one on demand. GSX itself does not do anything with the jetways at the same time, it only provides an interface for the default ones. Apart from extra burden on the developer, I am told that these are a bigger framerate hit... although personally I cannot confirm that - I have not experimented with that. At this point, unfortunately, LHBP is very much incompatibile with GSX... to the point of scenery disappearing when you decide to invoke GSX service fleet. However, we are working on it with FSDT to fix this. Compatibility with AES is planned, but not yet ready. ... also, I think we are better than flyTampa --Peter Fabian
September 20, 201312 yr Just installed this add-on twice. It's asking for the mesh resolution to be at 5m, but I cannot get it lower than 305m. Additionally, what is happening after I initially see all the airport stands, the airport buildings, then I get this(see attachment). Any ideas anyone or has anyone had this happen to them? And, additionally, what is going on with the jetway seen? Edited September 21, 201312 yr by firehawk44 Images removed. Exceeded 1600W and 400KB weight limit. September 29, 201312 yr It's asking for the mesh resolution to be at 5m, but I cannot get it lower than 305m. FWIW this one bit is a bit of a "lost in translation" thing. The resolution is supposed to be higher(or equal) than 5 meters, that means the value should be 5m (or lower). --Peter Fabian
September 30, 201312 yr The scenery is not currently fully DX10 compatibile, however it may or may not work with DX10 fixer, this was not tested. --Peter Fabian
December 1, 201312 yr Has there been any update to the issue of GSX and this scenery? I just bought LHBP and the building are not showing up. I have GSX but it is not on. I don't know if the problem I am having is caused by GSX are some other issue. Now, my add on manager and GSX installs are a little old. I think I updated everything correctly but to be honest, the whole update thing with FSDT is major PITA. I'm not even sure it is actually updated because the "about" button in the GSX settings screen doesn't show a version number and the aircraft settings are not showing a cargo door option with the QW757. December 1, 201312 yr After a little more research, it looks like the GSX issue has been fixed (but I still can't tell if I am running 1.8). I noticed in the LH forum that someone had the exact same problem with LHBP that I have - LHBP_objectPlacer.dll in modules folder and in xml.dll but no buildings and no entry in the add ons menu. It seems like there is a fix but they didn't actually say what the fix is in the forum (hate that).
