What do you mean with the Captain calling 'gear-up' being triggered automatically?  Do you mean without FS2Crew, I will have to manually make the call and/or retract the gear?

Thanks for the help!

C/Ls off: You retract the L/G (hit 'G', for example)

C/Ls on, F/O just reading the C/L: You retract the L/G, when the F/O runs the C/L he'll check, whether L/G is actually retracted

C/Ls on, F/O 'active': You'll hear the Captain's voice ("your" voice) calling for "gear up!", then the F/O will retract the L/G. In this configuration you can't intervene: Neither the gear decision nor the timing is in your hands. Same happens with the flaps retraction after takeoff.

A couple of (minor) things are actually off: According to the SOPs reflected in FS2Crew the strobe lights are switched on by the PF, with the built-in F/O, the F/O (PNF) will do this item. For me that's not much of an issue.

The kick I get out of FS2Crew is all the voice-commanding, including telling the F/O to set the FCU, the radios and stuff. Pretty much like a voice-controlled remote control ...

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to that level.  Really appreciate it!!!!

Yes very good explanation Olli  ... I was not aware of some of those differences, as I always tend to enjoy the 'full' ambience of having C/L and F/O 'on'.

PS... Olli, I cannot find the post about Steve's enhancement being updated for v1.15 so perhaps I was hallucinating, or getting confused with the workaround for it!  Apols if I got that wrong.

Thanks for everyone's help here...I decided to finally pull the trigger.  Downloading now.  Hopefully will get some time to fly tonight!

Only thing I don't like is that I have to manually enter in the flight plan into the FMC each time. Why can't I load a .pln file and have it nicely loaded in the FMC automatically?

I thought that I read somewhere that PFPX could export in the AAX format and then be imported using CO ROUTE?  Am I remembering this wrong?

I just got this plane tonight and took it for a quck flight in the pattern.  Have a lot to learn but I like it so far.  It's definitely not PMDG, that's for sure.  But, they never said it was supposed to be either.  Will do my first flight tomorrow.

I can`t land with airbus extended v 1.15, since shortly before the runway (100-200ft altitude) switches the autothrottle full power (may be go around mode) and landing is impossible (no longer reach switched off autothrottle and power). And it happens all the time, despite this that the whole landing procedure previously made (gears down and full flaps, also landing cheklist by copilot completed).

What am i doing wrong?

I get the British Captain's 'Go-around, flaps!' call instead ... and we call it 'deal'?

PFPX can, FlightSim Commander can, for example - or you could visit the Aerosoft Airbus forum and download the freeware user-made ConvAXE 1.5 Flight-Plan file Creater, Editor and Converter:

Just got the AAX last night.  I'm trying to install some liveries and when I select them, I get a completely black screen in the cockpit.  I've found a post out there talking about copying 3 .dds files from another known working paint.  I've tried that but still it doesn't seem to work.  Any ideas?  Am I missing something else?  Oh, I do make the correct entries in my aircraft.cfg file as well.  Thanks!

A few questions of a Boeing flyer...;)

What the exact moment to select Activate Approach Phase in the FMGC?

How I can load the plane equal to the PFPX load? Via the Fuel Planner and entering the Fuel manually?

Please disregard.  It was my fault.  Trying to install the original Aerosoft Airbus paints.

Well, after two days now of flying the bus, I must say this is a very IMPRESSIVE aircraft!!!!  I am totally and completely enjoying flying this aircraft.  It is EXTREMELY immersive!!  I love the built in checklist/FO, the cabin sounds, the A/C sounds, etc.  It really makes you feel like you're there in the real cockpit.  The systems as have been said many times aren't to the level of PMDG, but for what I'm looking for in a plane, this is great!!!!  I don't care about simulating failures and such.

I really love the automation with the checklist stuff and crew.  With all due respect to FS2Crew, this is what I wish that product would be more like.  More automation.  More customization with the sounds/announcements etc.  It's nice being able to swap out voice sets(for free).  For this aircraft anyway, I'm not sure I really need FS2Crew.  I use the button version and I don't miss having to trigger responses by pressing a button.  This is excellent the way they do it in the AAX!!  (Again, no disrespect to FS2Crew.  I have the NGX version and love it!)  Now, if we could just get GSX to automate their stuff a little more so we don't have the pestering of ground services to open and close doors etc!!!!

PFPX exports to AAX format.
