You see there you go again, can't leave it alone can you?

This keeps going because you keep it going and will not let anyone else have the last word because, as you stated, "will grind on about this all day".

So that shows your objective.

Fact is, I seen Nunos original post header and immediately went to my aerosoft account and got the update. I did not even start reading this thread until after it was starting to download.

I would think a guy who has been simming for as long as you would have known to do the same?

Instead you chose to be arrogant and rude instead of CONTRIBUTING or simply asking "hey guys, where can I get a link".

Hey Al, you'll never make any ground buddy.  Some people are just set out like that.  If you just ignore people like that, they tend to get bored with themselves.          (The Ignore List in the settings panel of the forum does a great job).

Anyhoo, the Airbus 1.15 sure is a joy. ....and fantastic to hear that Aerosoft are making some changes to Steve Inwood's sound enhancement, for it to work fully with v1.15 ....... so his magical work will live on.

I agree, you cannot win with a person with a chip on their shoulder.

I do agree with him on some points that Aerosoft could have done a better job giving out information to novice users who are not that savvy on how the Aerosoft update system works.

But to be so arrogant, confrontational and insulting towards other AVSIM members is quite counterproductive.

While there may be some systems simplicities and limitations, how's the FBW/autotrim?  Something vital and a defining handling characteristic of the Airbus, yet something no one has really mastered yet in software.

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

The whole FBW stuff started to improve after release of the non-extended Airbus via a user-mod. The user who modded the FBW is now on the 'extended' development team (Joshua Cheang).

FBW/autotrim worked nicely in v1.10 already and I haven't noticed any changes in v1.15 yet.

@ Dave:

Can you confirm, the enhancement sounds are being made compatible with v1.15?

What happened to AVSIM

I do agree with him on some points that Aerosoft could have done a better job giving out information to novice users who are not that savvy on how the Aerosoft update system works.

Thank, you, that's all I was saying originally.  I have only two products with any connection with Aerosoft product, the PMDG JS41 that I bought from Aerosoft as a DVD but get support for direct from PMDG and the AXE which I bought in DVD form from Amazon, so my experience in using Aerosoft is indeed minimal.

That said, I can usually find my way around most systems and tried the obvious routes before I posted.

In fact, originally I wasn't being particularly critical of Aerosoft, until our friend Q_Flyer decided to get on his RTFM high horse and I was put in the position of having to explain myself.  Since I'm not in the wrong here, he is, I won't be the one to back down.

Here's a little reminder of his elegant and helpful post " just a dose of common sense and willingness to get off one's backside and look where you bought the product from ".  Insulting?  Yes.  Arrogant?  Certainly. Confrontational?  Definitely.  I think you'll find that's the first post in this thread that meets those 3 tests.

Also it's factually wrong as I didn't buy the product from Aerosoft and my only action was to register it there which is by way of an automated link.

Completed a flight LEPA-LEST! It works like a charm! Is a pleasure to fly a decent Airbus while waiting for the FSL one...

I'm seriously thinking of pulling the trigger tonight taking advantage of the sale at PCAviator too.  I have a couple questions though first.

1.  Panel state loading - As I will be coming from the NGX and am used to the panel state loading of the NGX, what is the TURNAROUND state exactly?  I currently start my flight in the previous state the NGX was in when I completed my last flight.  I'm using FS2Crew for this and can still do a "turnaround" flight there and have FS2Crew be in the correct state/line in its script.  I know there is FS2Crew for the AAX but I will not be getting it right away.  So, in the mean time, I read the latest version of the manual(still 1.10 right?) and it stated that you could not use a "user defined" state load with the co-pilot/checklist functionality.  Is this true?  Or, will the TURNAROUND state allow me to have co-pilot/checklist capability but not be in cold and dark or one of the engines running states?

2.  Off the above question, just how far off is the default co-pilot/checklist stuff from what FS2Crew offers?  Is it really worth the $40 more to get FS2Crew in this case?

3.  I believe PFPX profile exists for AAX but what about for Topcat?

4.  Does the Airbus Connect X web interface work out of the box now w/ 1.15 on an iPad?  Or, do you still need to do the mod that's mentioned in the Aerosoft forum?

5.  I have the Cessna Pro flight yoke/throttle.  Is it better/easier to have FSX control axis for use with the AAX or is FSUIPC better?  Currently with the NGX, I have one of the T buttons assigned to reverse thrust on the quadrant and just use the throttle axis like a normal axis - not using FSUIPC at all.  Would this also work for the AAX?

Thanks!

Regards,

3> No ABXE for TopCat sadly, with PFPX this seems to be a forgotten add-on. I hope they add more to the list (including the PMDG 737 other versions, only supporting the 737-800 so far)

5> I have the same and following the joystick instructions (now included with the manual set) I use FSUIPC with no issues at all.

If your user-defined state is derived from a pre-defined state, F/O and C/Ls work.

2.  Off the above question, just how far off is the default co-pilot/checklist stuff from what FS2Crew offers?  Is it really worth the $40 more to get FS2Crew in this case?

The flows aren't that much off, it's rather about stuff like the Captain's call 'gear-up' being triggered automatically, so the F/O will retract the L/G without your intervention. You can switch the F/O actions off, of course, and have him (her!) just read the C/Ls.

3.  I believe PFPX profile exists for AAX but what about for Topcat?

Dunno.

4.  Does the Airbus Connect X web interface work out of the box now w/ 1.15 on an iPad?  Or, do you still need to do the mod that's mentioned in the Aerosoft forum?

Dunno, either.

NOT assigning via FSUIPC is recommended. Use FSX assignments, for the throttle axis also.

Thanks!

What do you mean with the Captain calling 'gear-up' being triggered automatically?  Do you mean without FS2Crew, I will have to manually make the call and/or retract the gear?

Thanks for the help!

100% read it somewhere, here or the AS forum I can't recall.

LOL.... I have not in 15 years, on this forum or the past one I frequented, ever told anyone to "RTFM".

Some people adapt to the world, others adapt the world to fit them, their expectations, and their arrogance.
