Government Shutdown - LM forum down?!

Featured Replies

Just went over to LM P3D forums and there are no forums.  I'm logged in and can get to a few of their other areas at the site but no forums.  Is anyone else seeing this?  Could it be the government shutdown has might actually affect P3Dv2 release?

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I was just on the P3D forums this morning, weird  . This is either really good or really bad.

They're probably updating them to suite the expected load when the announcement of availability / detailled info for v2 is issued :-)

I guess every simmer of the World, and Mars, because X-Plane 9 used to allow to fly in Mars, will jump over it trying to get the latest news, pictures, whatever...

So it isn't just me.  It could they felt P3D wasn't high on priority or maybe just some of the IT guys got sent home so better to lock the forums until "the mess" is resolved.  True, could be just updating the site but it is odd it happened the day of the furlough.

Whats weird is that when you sign in, you get the wordpress dashboard. I've never seen that before.

Update: The forum link is gone.

Update 2: It appears they are testing a new forum.

Considering that one user posted all the links to the leaked 2.0 beta info, they may be reevaluating user access. Either it's a glitch or they're updating. I seriously doubt it has anything at all to do with the shutdown.

Only 3,000 of LM's 130,000 employees were sent home.

None of it is affecting P3D.

Lockheed is federal contractor... Not funded by them. Anyone sent home was probably working on contract orders from the U.S. Government or their work was done out of a Government office.

ie: Prepar3D and their forums, and the website wouldn't be affected

Agree. I could not believe it when I saw that posted on the Prepar3d forum.
