I agree that there do seem to be more details, but I think that owes itself not only to the time spent on the airport design, but also in part to X-Plane's 7-year-newer technology for rendering - helping to make such details practical. Aside from that, I still find Orbx's claim-to-fame is more with the regional updates and improvements they bring via their packages, not necessarily their airports themselves. THAT market in X-Plane 10 will not be cracked in a long time considering the open but extremely proprietary methods needed to make base-level area scenery changes. There's only one, maybe two people on planet Earth with the skills to do it today. Hey, if Orbx did opt to bring their airports over to X-Plane, they would have 75% less work to do considering they don't have to worry about seasons!! (ZING!)
October 16, 201312 yr Moderator THAT market in X-Plane 10 will not be cracked in a long time considering the open but extremely proprietary methods needed to make base-level area scenery changes. There's only one, maybe two people on planet Earth with the skills to do it today. I'm not an expert on scenery development in X-Plane or anything, but I've found that the file formats are pretty well documented, and if somebody wanted to make Orbx like regions for X-Plane, they could. I do remember asking a question about why a certain photoscenery product didn't have the new X-Plane style roads or autogen, and the developer responded that LR haven't made the API public for it. So this might be the case. That was a while ago, so maybe it's changed now?

October 16, 201312 yr Not to start a flaming war here as I have a lot of Orbx airport but have you look closely, this scenery is way above Orbx, in quality and details, The scenery from Beti-X looks really promising. If they can do this level of quality and detail in more offerings, we'll have found our replacement. One brick at a time, we're tearing down the wall of skepticism. Blue skies Smiling at me Nothing but blue skies Do I see
