Since your system is a step up from mine, you should do at least as well....... Wow...doesn't even come close to those sky visuals..... :( and no where your FPS shown if you have HDR enabled......which in your present mode, is not engaged on your rig. Not sure if this is a SKYMAXX PRO, X-Plane 10.25 or Xsquawkbox problem. I know it never happened before installing Skymaxx, but whenever xsquawkbox updates the weather, the sim pauses for up to 10 seconds then continues after updating. Anyone have any reason why this may be happening? Dave I only installed SkyMaxx, and now have introduced the same pauses, with the longest near almost 20 seconds!

November 26, 201312 yr Was watching Atomicfrawgs stream last night on twitch http://www.twitch.tv/atomicfrawg/b/482457161 Around the 1:08.00 minute marks the cloud layer developed into a pattern of 3 heart breaks. Fluke or maybe I'm missing something. That happened because my Love for SkyMaxxPro was passing through my yoke. But what really happened was, I killed the weather engine in x-plane it self. I also did not have the settings tweaked right. I have since found a perfect balance when I was flying of stream sunday morning and am very happy with the results now. I have saw people making suggestions to put noaa weather to use METAR below 11,000 feet, however it ends up showing clouds at 11K with flat tops. Kinda funny looking. Anyway I found that changing it to 6k provided better results. This was a shot from yesterdays weather in Lafayette, La. Spot on to real life. And Eye candy.....
November 26, 201312 yr Frame-rate is on the upper left corner..........? I wonder what your Vram usage looks like..... Are you using extreme resolution textures in the sim? Ah no...for rez, is a setting of Very High. Distance is set to medium. Trees to: filled in. The next two are 'Tons' and finally traffic as Chicago Suburbs. As for shadows, it is on Overlay. I do only fly with HDR as it makes XPX simply magical. If I had to keep this off only for to be able to fly over 25 FPS with SkyMaxx...that for myself would be a fatal uninstall for sure. HDR brings the sim to life and night operations are beyond 'WOW'..... Post Edit: My Vram usage is around 870-900 MB of a 2 GB GTX 680 pool.

November 26, 201312 yr Devon you seem to be running without HDR on which may explain your better frames. I think Sesq is talking about with HDR on. This is also a point of interest for me (as HDR is one of my favourite parts of XP10) so any other reports from people running with HDR on would be welcomed. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

And Eye candy..... atomicfrawg , With the pics above, can you show your SKYMAXX PRO settings also, When flying at higher altitudes as I am now, does it just look like a flat cloud below you and with holes? I am flying above this storm we are having in the east and the radar on my 772 shows heavy rain below us, but the sky is a flat cloud with holes in the clouds all around us. Any help with settings would be great. I also use NOAA WEATHER and have it already set at 6000 for the transition. Thank you Dave

This is also a point of interest for me (as HDR is one of my favourite parts of XP10) so any other reports from people running with HDR on would be welcomed. With HDR on....I tank to 6-10 fps going through or having a right or left view of a cloud cluster....OUCH! I also don't see much of any difference, I still have puff-ball clouds that look exactly like the default issue. The program installed, I have set most as default, but still nothing WOW...... I also now have HDR off, and hope things will improve..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No WOW factor, here. With all sliders set to half their travel range, with all other checkmark's set to low, I can only get 27-30 fps with HDR disabled. If I have my prized HDR on....I can tank to as low as 6 FPS, and now, (which I have never had....), I can get a total sim freeze of up to 20 seconds or greather, as the clouds are doing whatever. Never had this with non-installed set up. Not happy..... Any suggestions from those that 'wow'ed this? I'm open ears.....and BTW, any further pics posted of near or going through clouds would be most helpful if you have your FPS rate in the top left showing what is really happening....thanks! I can match or beat those frames easily (With higher base settings) on my lower speced system......... and with HDR on, I still beat him. Something is wrong. We are all connected..... November 26, 201312 yr It's the weirdest thing. I'm struggling with frames real bad at the minute. Around 10-12 fps at KLGA. But when I have HDR on it goes up to about 14 fps.
