That might be all or part of the problem right there. Card is getting a bit old for modern applications.......

Especially things as hungry for VRAM as x-plane.

Darn it! I knew this day would come. One day you're top of the range, next day you're the Atari style performer :P Any suggestions for new card?

I'm not really up on ATI stuff if that's your preference..... I tend towards Nvidia. And it all depends on your budget too.......

Any ATI gurus out there?

By the way, my 560 ti has served me well, but its getting time for it to go to some deserving somebody out there. (Likely one of my nephews, as soon as I build them a system that can handle it)

Whatever you get, for the long haul I would check out something with 4gb of ram

Maybe this could help? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html

Yeah, I'm gonna be picking up a 4gb card in the sales I think. Between P3D 2 and XP10 the card makers should see an effect on their bottom line.

Anyway, want my rig to be ready as soon as GTA5 hits PC...

atomicfrawg , With the pics above, can you show your SKYMAXX PRO settings also, When flying at higher altitudes as I am now, does it just look like a flat cloud below you and with holes? I am flying above this storm we are having in the east and the radar on my 772 shows heavy rain below us, but the sky is a flat cloud with holes in the clouds all around us. Any help with settings would be great. I also use NOAA WEATHER and have it already set at 6000 for the transition. Thank you

I would consider a Linux version from avsim or x-plane.org.

It uses Gizmo.  Exclusive to X-Aviation with no plans for a Linux version.

Hmmm, strange !... I thought Gizmo sold bunnies ? At least that's what his signature says...  Truth is, all of my bunnies disappeared soon after I started using

X-Aviation stuff... That's one of the reasons I didn't buy the Saab yet... I like bunnies!

Bunnies are classed as a pest in Australia. In fact, we built a huge rabbit proof fence just to deal with them.

You can have bunnies or clouds, not both. Sorry.

Well, I'll stay with the clouds then ...

Yeah, when I got my card, there were others out there with more Vram but no games were using nearly that much. It was more of an E-peen option than an actual necessity. Fast forward a year or three and..........

Ooopps.

Anyway, I was looking at the P3D V2 threads at thier ram conclusions/findings as well, and thinking my poor card was approaching a well deserved retirement after a long life of faithful service.

Yea but they take care of penguins, at least in southern NZ as I know of. Maybe Tasmania as well if that belongs to AU?
