Possible Orbx December sale coming up!

Featured Replies

For those who are thinking about buying some (older) Orxb add ons: JV posted on the Orbx forum that they are considering to do a December sale. JV asked if everyone would like it or not and made clear only 'legacy' products will be on sale, so not FTX Global and new release from the coming month. He also said he is asking his customers if they would like this because of what happened back in 2011 with the Xmas sale. He acknowledged he said way back then there wouldn't be any more sales but he now posted that this is the only way to give something back to his customers. (And of course sales are simply important for any business!)

I think it's 99% certain the sale will happen because everyone seems to like the idea so far.

I don't mind a sale. I might pick up Scotland because Norway has been postponed. But maybe Vector and OpenLC are enough already for me...

Sale, bit early for an April 1st!

That would be nice. I would definitely pick up a few older regions I don't have.

This would be a good thing.  I will go to the Orbx site and express my opinion.  Thanks for the heads up.

I would consider picking up some orbx products if there was a sale as well. All I have is ftx global, so I do not have much experience with their individual scenery.

The sale is live already!

Wow, FTX Regions are 44% off! And most airports 33%. Scotland now only costs 15,39 euro. And Wales 12,37 euro. Since FTX Norway has been postponed I might get these two to keep me busy (besides the upcoming OpenLC and Vector, which I will get and which are nice but regions rule).

Only problem is I won't be able to use them right away in P3D 2.0… and what if the updated installer is released after FTX Norway…? Obx said it will take them a year before every add-on is 2.0 ready.

Yeah I am in a  holding pattern with Orbx too since they are going to take so long to make areas available for P3D.

Maybe that is why they are having the sell in the first place due to the loss of sales from us P3D guys.

I might buy a few more areas at next years sale when they have the areas P3D ready. Disappointing that it will take so long but I do understand their reasons.

AU is only $27! I may have to pick that one up. It's also first on the list of P3D v2 conversions per John.

Hi I posted on the fsx forum  but just found this topic.  I have Global but tempted by Australia SP4.  Can anyone comment if this would enhance AU a lot more or will I not see so much difference as its an older product and I already have global.  I guess the Region will replace global for AU?  Any comments appreciated

cheers

Yeah this sale is really good. I am finally going to complete all the missing regions! Bravo Orbx.

Intel i7 10700K | Asus Maximus XII Hero | Asus TUF RTX 3090 | 32GB HyperX Fury 3200 DDR4 | 1TB Samsung M.2 (W11) | 2TB Samsung M.2 (MSFS2020) | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm AIO | 43" Samsung Q90B | 27" Asus Monitor

I only have ftx global. With this sale going on what orbx regions would be worth picking up first? I do most my flying in the US (both coasts), but may start running long hauls from ny to heathrow etc. I was considering maybe orbx england and jackson hole, but I am open to any and all recommendations. I tend to fly jets, but I do have a c172 for bush flying.

Seems that you can easily install Orbx stuff with a registry edit. There is a complete explanation of that somewhere on this forum. That makes it tempting to get Scotland and maybe Wales. Then again, I like the freeware Norway and in a month we will get Vector and shortly after that OpenLC... you have to draw a line somewhere with all those purhchases for FS... er... P3D... ^_^

AU SP4 is definitely worth it. Thee is a free mash you can get for that as well. In addition it lets you install all the freeware ORBX airports that go along with it. The OZx guys have a tone of stuff thats compatible as well.

Yes sir,

I report it is working for me. Note PAKT does not work. The area and AP work but if you start at a parking spot you will be under the scenery.

Sure is nice looking flying in Orby land instead of the ugly PFJ default land. :)
