So is the manual for fs2crew covering whole procedures so I know when to say what?

My experience since FS2Crew for LVLD Boeing 763 for FS9 until FS2Crew for Airbus Extended (FS)X has been that all flows, procedures and checklists are covered very well.

Don't own the NGX edition myself, but I would almost guarantee it's the very same standard.

What happened to AVSIM

I can't really understand how "interface" comes into it; My use of TIR looks like this; launch TIR, launch FSX. Once you have a good profile (which is everything, and I'd guess what caused Bob's bad experience), you do not touch the interface. I honestly haven't touched the TIR interface in about 4 years. It's just something I start up, then go fly. I use the F9 key to turn it on / off and that's it. It's just about naturally looking around the VC; far more realistic that pop-up panels of other monitors with flat displays on. Olli, I'm amazed a serious simmer like you isn't using TrackIR!! ... honestly If I didn't have TIR I wouldn't sim any more; No way I could sit in front of a limited, static view of a panel. It'd be like going back to 2D for me. Short of a full home cockpit, TrackIR is everything for me, in terms of immersion.

Seeing as how the OP has a plan, I'll indulge in a little off-topic banter here.

The TrackIR itself *is* an interface to the sim...that's what I refer to, not the TrackIR's control interface (i.e. control keys etc).

With EZCA and a 12-button mouse (and also a 22-button Logitech G13 game controller), I have a large variety of programmed pan-view presets for 45/90/135 left and right views, overhead panel, pedestal, various outside spot perspectives etc...it's not at all sitting in front of a limited static view, it's simply a different way of moving the view.  I also find that having a button on the yoke programmed as the mouse-look hotkey allows simple variable panning with the mouse that is very intuitive and much less fatiguing than the TIR.  I also found that hitting clickspots on some panels with the TIR to be at the very least, tricky.

But all that said, I tried mightily to get my TrackIR to work as I had hoped...and when my best friend bought a TIR 5 we discovered that he had most of the same issues with it that I did.

Different strokes for different folks...but my point is that the TrackIR is an acquired taste that not everyone will grow to appreciate.

The important part of TIR is knowing when to pause the camera. And to have a very accessible button to do it with.

...and for ATC I would highly suggest you consider start flying online instead. That will give you extremely realistic ATC and increase the immersion factor probably more than anything else.

TrackIR 5 is good but I did the alternative.   I use 3 24" monitors in 5760 x 1080 resolution.  When you have a super wide screen like that, you don't really need a system like TrackIR 5 because you have to REALLY turn your head to see the rest of your cockpit.

VoxATC and FS2Crew work perfectly fine together and it is my preferred method of offline flying.   You just have to set your softmute key binding in FS2Crew to the Spacebar which VoxATC uses for it's push to talk, that way when you hold down the space bar to talk to VoxATC it mutes out FS2Crew so it won't listen to voice commands.    If you want the real deal, I highly recommend joining VatSIM and flying Online with real controllers.   You'll be in SID and STAR heaven.

For flight planning, I just use Flightware.com to snag plans then I plug those plans into Aivlasoft's Electronic Flightbag, one of the programs I recommend highly.

When funds allow you might also like to consider the Buttkicker Gamer -  a device that lets you feel as well as hear engine vibrations, tyre rumble, gear and flaps deployment /retraction. All very immersive.

I would add to all these adons, the sim physics X which add friction, brake heat and ice physics to the plane. Not only pmdg one that works really good with it.

Tbh at this point I'm stopping on ASN, fscommander and fs2crew. I won't be adding anymore to my learning curve...

Decided to stay with default ATC for now.

One more thing - I won't have rudder pedals for now. May I still use my Logitech extreme 3d joystick as rudder addition to saitek pro flight yoke?

I twist my joystick for rudder and it works very well.
