Apparently the real Metro had no AP at all, so Razbam tossed in a rudimentary one.

According to some discussions on the real deal, some Metros have autopilots, some don't.

Hey guys, what's the secret to getting the SAS caution lights to turn off? I can't find specific instructions in the manual? I found the SAS servo switch on the console which extinguished one caution light but I still have two "L SAS FAIL" and "R SAS FAIL" lights on all the time. I think I got them turned off one time by fiddling with the overhead switches or something but I can't seem to reproduce that again no matter what I do? This is in P3D2 that I'm using it BTW.

Thanks,

Jim

EDIT: Never mind, I found it :smile:

Jim...err, it would be useful telling people where you found it. Nothing worse than having a problem, finding a thread about said problem and reading a simple "Never mind, solved it." as a reply.

But in case anyone's wondering: The SAS system switches are well hidden on the indictor to the left of the fuel flow/crossfeed indicators.

I know, that always irritates me too, that's why I did it :smile:

Where I found it was on page 1-7 in the manual, lol. "I can't find specific instructions in the manual" was a me problem, it was there all along of course. :blush:

A new version of the mods is online.

Highlights:
- Sounds for all switches
- Working SAS system
- Hydraulic system
- Pneumatic system
- Friction locks

And some bits here and there. Check the ever expanding readme!

Hey fellow lovers of the Metroliner.

I bought this plane a few weeks ago but I never found the manual. I did find a link online and got it and I figured out enough to get started, airborne, and land successfully but I am unable to get the annunciator and panel lights and exterior lights to work, or the fuel gauges to move.

I've looked at videos and I can find all of the switches but something isn't happening.  Can you help me?

From my experience it could be two things, first just to the right of the throttle quadrant there's an inverter switch, it should be switched on (avionics master is right next to it incidentally, press "A" to move into the right seat, press Shift+A to move back).

If that doesn't work and you're getting a PWR FAIL light it might be because your dll.xml is corrupt. I installed it into FSX and P3D both and each time I had to open the dll.xml in Notepad and move the ending </SimBase.Document> tag to the end of the file. In other words it installed it like this:

</SimBase.Document>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>RAZBAM Metroliner System Control</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>Addon Modules\MM3SM.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>

...but it needs to be like this:

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>RAZBAM Metroliner System Control</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>Addon Modules\MM3SM.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

To open your dll.xml in Notepad for editing press the Windows key+R (Run), paste the line below into the Run box and press OK:

notepad %appdata%\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml

Go to the very end of the file and make sure the </SimBase.Document> tag is the last line in the fiel.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your help, it was very gracious of you and I followed your instructions and saw the dll just as you described but my copy was already correct so I'll need to look further. I don't have any lights and electrical readings and my fuel gauges are frozen. Its a mystery to me

When it does get fixed I will happily share the solution.

good flights,  Cal

Just want to thank Bjorn for these excellent mods.   I love the Razbam Metro and these mods make a great plane even better.

Cheers.

[EDIT:   I resolved the below by making a copy of the included file "RM3_CockpitSounds_BK.ini", and renaming it as "DSD_FSX_XML_Sound.ini" and placing the new file in the FSX/Gauges directory].

Mmmm, I installed the mods as per the README and all the technical mods work, but the cockpit switch sounds do not work, and I am getting this error mesage each time I launch FSX :-

454510.jpg

......there was no DSD_FSX_XML_Sound.ini file that came with the mod, so I'm unsure how to proceed.

Was there supposed to be an ini file, to interact with the DSD gauge?

Any clues ?

Thanks

As in the PM, mak sure the sound mod's entries for the panel.cfg are contained in a single line, like this:

gauge08=DSD_FSX_XML_Sound!Sound,0,0,0,0, .\Gauges\RM3_Cockpit_Sounds\RM3_CockpitSounds_BK.ini

I don't have any lights and electrical readings and my fuel gauges are frozen. Its a mystery to me

When it does get fixed I will happily share the solution.

Thanks all,

in your post Bjoern, you mention the inverter switches. I have clicked those up and down over and over, no change. I am reading the manual and I am doing what it says but still no change. I'm trying to love this plane but its kind of hard when it doesn't work. Any more suggestions?

good flights, Cal   ....see, I'm trying to stay cheerful.

Can you post your dll.xml please so we can look at it? Maybe there's something else wrong with it? If you could do the Run box command again from my post above, then with the dll.xml open in Notepad do CTRL+A, CTRL+C, and then paste it into a reply here with CTRL+V. We can look it over and see if there's some other reason it's become corrupt.

I just moved my dll.xml out to the desktop and loaded the Metro and it exhibits exactly the behavior you describe, no caution lights, no fuel gauges, no exterior lights, etc.

Jim

I get a crash on exit with this airplane, I wonder if that is caused by the mistake in the dll.xml entry? Since nobody here is complaining about that crash on exit maybe I will try to reinstall again.
