January 8, 201412 yr Hi all, I have been away from the sim community for a couple months and I notice that Steve's DX10 fixer is the hot topic at the moment. Are PMDG pilots using this and is it fully compatible with all current PMDG products? I have not been using DX10 Preview due to it's known 'limitations' and performance issues. If this is a recommended purchase, is there a good place to get started on setting it up correctly? Thanks! January 8, 201412 yr I don't know why but my flightsim don't like the directx 10 cause i've already try to use the Steve's DX10 fixer but my frames goes down by 5 frames  , unlike other people who have had a significant performance increase. Onassis Reis.

January 10, 201412 yr DX10 is a must .Almost OOM free , smooth and new scenerys from FSDT, Flightbeam, Flytampa takes advantage of it. Highly recommended to Nvidia users (AMD users should check the issues with artifacts) PS! I had some problems with undocking panels but have overcome these issues (CDUII from VR insight), Michael Michael Moe
January 10, 201412 yr PMDG have stated that they do not recommend DX10. Quite a few users appear to be happy with it though. January 10, 201412 yr For me, there's no worst thing than DX10. Using DX9, things are fine and stable, and with better performance Jason Cardeira
January 10, 201412 yr For me, there is nothing worse than using DX9, using DX10 and DX10 Fixer everything is smooth as silk and "no" OOM's, even flying back to back flights with add-on's such as EFB, ProATC x, Opus, FS2Crew and PMDG 737NGX. January 10, 201412 yr Working fine here. The Fixer seems to have overcome most, if not all, of the previous problems with DX10. It also knocked almost 1Gb off my VAS usage with the 777. I would recommend a high-end Nvidia graphics card, though (remember that in DX10 all the graphics processing load is handled by the GPU), as well as taking the obvious step of checking that your installation will run in DX10 mode, prior to purchase. Cheers, Brian

January 12, 201412 yr I have no idea what you may have done to your copy of FSX but following a recent full re-install of FSX, I simply ran the Fixer and flew in Dx10. Not too complicated really. Regards, Nick.
January 13, 201412 yr I got in really well with the move to dx10 specially with the fixer too, fair do you do have to start from a fresh but I'm defiantly not looking back it's rekindled my love for fsx again plus my fps is higher and more stable I couldn't believe it :-) Paul, Flying The Virtual Skies Since FS95
January 13, 201412 yr The AVSIM DX10 doc is the way to go if you would like to use DX10. Paul is constantly updating it and it cuts the time out of trying to find that one useful hint you saw in a post 2 weeks ago. Inspector settings and recommendations are in the document and even more important, some of the reasons WHY the tweaks included are included. I'd say give the DX10 fixer and the AVSIM DX10 document a go. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
January 14, 201412 yr Never had any issues with the 777 and DX10. Good FPS, nice and smooth. Probably need to update the fixer to the latest version. Still running 1.2. Jeff Thomson
January 14, 201412 yr I've been using it and FSX is like a new sim. FSX is now crisp and clear. I was using an AMD 7770 and I had the artifacts and tearing so I bit the bullet and upgraded to a GTX 780. FSX has never looked or feel better . I think an Nvidia card is a must. It just performs better with less issues. Here are a few screen shots, no editing.
