January 9, 201412 yr There are two interesting aircraft that just came out for FSX...the Carenado B1900D and the Razbam Metroliner. I am looking to buy one of these two but wanted to do some research first and get a little feedback from people who have both. I have practically everything put out by Carenado, including the C90B and B200. I have never purchased a product from Razbam. My inclination is to go with the Metroliner as I am very impressed by the graphics and videos I've seen so far. With the the Carenado I'm not as excited since I have the C90B and B200 and they both look nearly identical in the VC to the B1900D. Any opinions?
January 9, 201412 yr I'd go with the Metroliner ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
January 9, 201412 yr I have the Metroliner and have been very happy with it, even if it does need a service pack. I plan to get the B1900D. So ... my advice is to get both. :-) Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
January 13, 201412 yr Author The Carenado eye candy is pulling me in strong. The Metroliner realism is pulling too but it is $50.00 big ones. Still can't decide between the two.....any info or opinions would help!
January 13, 201412 yr I would go with the Metroliner because you already have the Carenado B200 and the B1900D is too much like the B200. The Metroliner will give you something different to play around with for a while. Another consideration is where you like to fly. Metroliner is used extensively in Canada's North and the B1900D is used extensively in New Zealand and in the USA. Most likely you will eventually get both any ways. January 13, 201412 yr There are plenty off Metroliners in Australia. Take a trip out to Sydney,s Bankstown airport and I Garentee you will see at least 6. They often fly at night doing Cargo and mail runs to regional Towns. Jason Richards
January 13, 201412 yr There are plenty off Metroliners in Australia I was referring to Airlines and not Cargo Ops. You can book flights on these two airlines in Canada on Metroliners Bearskin Airlines Perimeter Aviation But yes if you want to include Cargo Ops then Australia has them as well.....Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
January 13, 201412 yr I still reckon $50 is a bit much for the flying pencil, but that's just my opinion. Scott
January 14, 201412 yr Have you made a call yet? An observation, if I may: I'm in the same boat as you. Given that you have other Beeches and don't appear to have a strong emotional attachment to the B1900 I'd go with the Metro. Both are getting pretty decent write ups from rw drivers. Not spectacular, but nothing off putting. Matthew, probably before your time in NZ but before the B1900D Eagle operated Bandeirantes and.... Metro IIIs! I went on one from New Plymouth to Auckland. Something of a rocket. The early commuters (first flight of the day) were busy lamenting the lack of a hostie what seemed like ten minutes in only to get the announcement about descent. Mike I quite often flew in the Metros around the New Zealand provincial network and it was a fun - if slightly claustrophobic - aircraft to fly in. Gisborne was served predominantly by the unpressurised Bandeirante until the early 90's when the metro started to feature more strongly on the EX routes. The improvement in comfort from a ride above the weather was notable, as was the 20-odd minute time saving on a flight to Auckland! They were also screechingly loud if you were watching one taxi in to the gate! Not like the deep resonating hum of turboprops like the 1900D, Dash 8 and ATR we have now. I'm interested in the RAZBAM metro, but at $50 I'd have to get a lot of use out of it to justify the purchase, more so when I'm only just starting to get my head around the MJC Q400. January 14, 201412 yr I would have thought the PMDG js41 would have been another option but in any case between the 2, I would go Metro, why? the B1900 doesnt have navigraph ZORAN
January 14, 201412 yr Author Well I picked up the B1900D last night and I have to say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I am a Carenado fan again after the TBM 850 which I didn't like mostly due to the G1000 and too much glass and not enough steam gauges. Anyway, This Carenado is a steal at $40.00 IMO. The Metroliner will have to wait a bit. AND you're right YTZ I will end up with both, who am I kidding!
