After many hours of working my classic DC...

….rebuilt the engineers panel in HD.

And then it dawned on me …..the traditional "sitting on the throttles" 2D panel view that many wanted to get away from perfectly suited the Douglas DC-8's "Engineers view". Expect to see it in action in my next video.

  • Well I am assuming the thread title is a typo! Nobody got beyond here as far as I know! Good idea for a thread, I happened to pop some screens while looking through aircraft for the Best Freeware A

  • What happened to this thread? I am more into moving pics with sound (not music) than stills now but hey let's see some pics.

  • Here's some old screenshots from around last year. Unfortunately, I go through FS phases due to real life commitments and I'm happy to report that I've been actively flying FS9 for the past few weeks

My thought for today; Man if Geo-render was still making scenery for FS9 Right now it would be like ORBX for FS2004, just touch it up with some grass and you got yourself ORBX Quality Scenery for FS2004 (Not Exactly but close enough) Shots i posted above with the Puss-Moth S-86 and S-88 proves it.  Wish we had more from them

Anyone else Shares this thought? This would probably be the closest thing to ORBX in my book Geo-render will never be forgotten

Agreed, they were the best for small airports in FS9.

Baby Ace (Finally got the textures working in FS9) Had to edit the tail a bit as it wasn't design for the Tundra model  and i decided to add a bit of dirt on the tires.

Not long ago a member of this forum helped me to make flap vortices (thanks again), and someone liked them:

Well she's finally done, Its not the best but i am a beginner this wasn't intended to turn into a project lol but after messing around with DXTBMP and  Photoshop im finally starting to learn how to do this.

Added the Stripes today, and more Duct Tape, and after 30 min of online searching found a piper Logo to put on the Ace's Fender just for show :P

Also Changed the Textures for the Mud on the tires and added mud on the side as well as underneath the Aircraft.

When you say DXT3, is that for everything? Clouds, autogen, airport/airfields, ai, etc?

Clouds: Yes

Autogen: No

Scenery: Yes - except ground polys  -and check alpha/mips are included using Alphasearcher

AI: All (Russian AI especially comes with huge textures sometimes) and check mips are included, convert with Convimx as a matter of course.

WOAI is scrupulous about this, another reason to use them.

Flyables: Yes (except for the VC and some hi-poly models which deserve 32-bit).

I always reduced their size to 256
I don't resize the textures, just convert to DXT3.

I'm sure there are experts in this field but it's probably beyond this thread (and me!)
