February 1, 201412 yr Hi Everyone I have just purchased asn to compliment the PMDG B77L and B73X based on the glowing recommendations I have read around the AVSIM forums. I was wondering if ASN supports upper airways as some flightplans have up to 60 waypoints and if I have to enter each one it will take forever. I had a quick look when I launched the product for the first time and couldn't see a way to do it. I also looked in the manual and could find no mention of it either. If I inserted a departure and finish airport, altitude etc in ASN and then put my real world route into the B77L fmc will the correct winds/temps be placed correctly for a given waypoint considering it hasn't been directly entered into ASN? I also noticed a thread on the developers support page about basically a guestimation of wx in the Australian region rather than real world wx. Is this true, Is there work being doen to fix this? Any information would be appreciated. Cheers Barra Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling

February 1, 201412 yr Author Just looking for some guidance from users of the B77L specifically. Thanks for your extremely informative input. Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling
February 1, 201412 yr Moderator ASN supports all the waypoints. You need to build the plan with an external flight planner like FSBuild, PFPX, etc. Save the flight plan in FSX format then import that flight plan into ASN. Also save the plan in PMDG format and you can upload it into the FMC so you dont need to spend 30 minutes programing the FMC or ASN for that manner. February 1, 201412 yr If you use PFPX to build your route, you can export it to a PMDG 777 weather file along with the PMDG route itself, then once you load the route in to the FMC you can click in to another page and have the FMC import the winds aloft data for you.
February 1, 201412 yr asn does that for you as well as long as you put a flight plan in the asn flight plan box I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
February 1, 201412 yr asn does that for you as well as long as you put a flight plan in the asn flight plan box No doubt it does it for you as PFPX is ultimately getting the WX info from ASN, but I think the OP was asking if there was a way to get that data ported over in to the aircraft without having to type it all in. ASN does that for you?
February 1, 201412 yr Is all that needed at all? ASN creates interpolated weather for any aircraft's position - do you really have to make ASN aware of 60 waypoints? What happened to AVSIM

ASN does that for you? Was referring only to the wind uplink to the t7 the op doesn't need to get pfpx to do this since asn does this automatically once you put in a flight plan in asn, but to generate an auto flight plan to put in the pmdg fmc or any other fmc yes you need another program eg pfpx, or vroute and their are others to do this for you I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
February 1, 201412 yr do you really have to make ASN aware of 60 waypoints? You do, if you want it to export wind situation for the waypoints, so the 777 can read it. --Peter Fabian
February 2, 201412 yr You do, if you want it to export wind situation for the waypoints, so the 777 can read it. And of course if you use PFPX, you don't need to, because PFPX does it all in one (ok, 4) clicks. step 1: Make flightplan in PFPX Step 2: export flightplan in all available formats Step 3: Open ASN Step 4: Click on "Flight Plan" and import the flightplan from the saved files therein (icao to icao) Without bothering to do anything else, open FSX, start the 777, and on the Route page, insert (ICAOICAO01) into the scratchpad & insert into Coroute. Go to Legs page, and select bottom right lineselect twice. Whole flightplan with wind data now inserted. Additionally you can use PFPX to "send" data to Vatsim's prefile website, no editing required, just wait for the page to load, and press "Send flightplan". Now when you log in with the same callsign, your flightplan is attached and you can call ATC for clearance, and ATC will see every single letter PFPX decided makes up your flightplan and remarks section. February 2, 201412 yr Author Yes Trent I am beginning to think PFPX is a must have as well. 1 question though, does the wx in PFPX and ASN match up? Its only money I guess!! February 2, 201412 yr Yes you need to set the location in the weather section of pfpx for it to load the weather data from asn I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
