Taxi 2 Gate 3 month development time vs the rest

Featured Replies

I just wanted to post this topic up in the hope I could get some thoughts from other simmers.

Taxi 2 Gate have recently released Istanbul and in my opinion it's quality is quite superb, not only inlcuding the airport but alot of the area surrounding it.  They delivered this product on the back of MMMX which is superb as well.  The latest Istanbul got to us in 3 months!!!  They developed this bad boy like a rocket......

So my question is why are we waiting 6 to 12 months for other sceneries to hit the market from developers who have been in the game for much longer and delivering comparable quality???

I can't speak for Taxi 2 Gate, but other people who dev probably do it in their spare time. They have work, home life, families and other commitments that come before the "hobby" - I don't think you can make a living from the odd bit of scenery.

Didn't they do KMCO too, they have been putting out A LOT of amazing things lately. I'd say they're on par with FSDT/FlyTampa and Flight Beam now.

This, most devs really can't make a living from it, for most it's more of a hobby / source of extra income.

At least personally I really can't bother spending all my free time on developing after a long day of studying / work, it's rather something I do during weekends and such when I have plenty of time.

Thankfully I'm now finishing my studies and will do some work for a year before joining university, should give me a lot more time for development than I ever had during my studies.

Anyway I agree Taxi2Gate is doing really impressive work, together with Flytampa they are my favourite major scenery dev.

They are doing real good work. I have supported then and bought MMMX, KMCO & LTBA. Don't forget about KSTL. Have that one as well.

Well, I bought MMMX and still crashing into invisible objects upon loading AP on runway, despite patch which claims to fix this issue...

Many others are also reporting the same problem and I have no other AFCAD active for this AP.

Seems like their quality control is a little lacking!

Well you could always disable FSX crash function, that should solve the problem.

I've disabled it anyway as it's utterly useless. If I crash I don't need FSX to freeze and tell me that.

Not sure why just their MMMX has this problem though.

Yeah, I'm also not sure why just that AP has the crashing issue although it's been well documented and the fix from Taxi2Gate hasn't worked for me any many others...

WOW! It looks awesome!

Yep.  Amazing quality on this one.  Up there with FT, FSDT.

And all in three months.  Looking forward to their next one.

Probably lots of devs working on different projects.

Do people get mesh problems with LTBA scenery and FSGlobal? It looks ugly(((

It was definitely an eye opener to see them publish a product that was only voted for in late December of 2013 I believe and it's not even like they compromised on quality or detail. When I first saw the pictures on SimMarket, it was hard to believe that this is not FlyTampa. It was an immediate purchase for me (with the price they're asking for it) and the surprises kept coming in. It even performs beautifully just like FT products.

Add to that surrounding city detail and it's a winner.
They recently updated LTBA to fix a few issues and it's only piled on another cherry to the cake in my opinion.

I will also be picking up on their next venture, New Doha Intl Airport (OTHH).

I'm using FSGlobal 2010 and FTXVector. Scenery doesn't conflict with the mesh from what I can tell.
