March 24, 201412 yr Congratulations and good luck! Be sure to monitor your weight closely. One unfortunate side effect for many people who quit smoking is an unwanted weight gain. I quit smoking March of last year and gained 10 pounds fairly quickly. I finally got that under control and lost 5 of them. I had it beat! Then, a combination of high stress and a medical condition that caused my body to retain fluid shot my weight up 25 pounds. Got the medical condition mostly under control plus got rid of the stress and lost 15 pounds in just a few days. Currently working on getting fluid intake and weight under control. I'm smoking again, but much less than before, and it won't be that hard to quit again when my weight is back where I want it. I've done it before, I can do it again. Hang in there. March 24, 201412 yr Hey, I'd love to meet up with you whenever you get to Chicago... Yes that is a good idea. I will be arriving in Chicago on the 30th of May. We can touch base as that date gets closer Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 24, 201412 yr I gave up smoking once, for about 8 months. Sadly I fired up and started tweaking FSX, frustration got the better part of me ............. and now back to 20 a day !! Moral of the story? Don't run FSX on an inadequate PC if you want to give up the cancer sticks
March 24, 201412 yr I quit 15 months ago. Best thing I have done for myself. And my wallet. Round' here It is saving me roughly $240 a month. That's a lot of FSX addons haha. Congrats to you and good luck. Give it a few more days. You'll cough less, breath easier, food tastes better, you're less winded, smell better and most of all, cut your cancer risk in half in the first year old. Added benefit, girls actually want to be around you that you want around. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
March 25, 201412 yr I switched to e-cigs and have been off cigs for over two years. It's the only thing that ever worked for me. I've been slowly decreasing the amount of nicotine in the ejuice, although I must say I'm in no hurry to quit ecigs at this point. March 25, 201412 yr I smoked from 18-31 in my cabin crew days... I remember going away for 4 day trips to antigua and smoking like a trooper the whole time, as alot of the crew smoked... The silly thing was you could go 14 hours to Japan and not even think about it, but you'd get off the aircraft and leg it outside for a smoke... After my gran died of lung cancer, and she never smoked, and was very healthy I decided to give up. I can understand how hard it is, its a nasty addiction youll only give up with will power and self belief you can do it. If you can do 1 day you can do 2, if you can 2 days youll can do 4, if you can do 4 you can do 8. Now at 36 ive not had a cig in 5 years, and I can tell you now, I miss them terribly, I used to love smoking, but at the end of the day mate, it kills you, no other way of looking at it. Yourll be fine, I remember reading if you give up by 30, youre lungs will have change to recover fully. Be strong mate, you can do it....my 2 points of advice, buy some chewing gum, dont go out with any chicks that smoke !!!! I quit 15 months ago. Best thing I have done for myself. And my wallet.
