Any reference to flight dynamics / engine systems updates, namely what we all know....?

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

Not mentioned at the conference, so I'm afraid not. It doesn't mean there won't be though.

Anyway, the GNSs are a GREAT feature to have for the GAs!...

Wow 10.30 is looking good! The GPS looks like it is quite deep too

I think one of the underlying advancements we may see with this GPS is that it has Aerosoft's Nav Data Pro. As Philipp mentioned that it is an open database and user-expandable. I'm no aircraft maker but could this mean that developers now might be able to go more advanced with avionics such as the Avidyne's and G1000's? I know that danklaue has expressed his frustration in the past about not being able to get into X-Plane's navigation database to be able to customize and access maps and navigation to properly simulate a G1000.

I could be wrong however, It's just a speculation and hope.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

It's the other way round. X-Plane uses a open database, the same as Flightgear. ( http://data.x-plane.com/ ) Aerosoft is a proprietary project but has sid/star.

I would have preferred the original database to be expanded with sid/star instead of using two databases simultaneously? Or am I wrong and 10.3 won't

use the old database anymore?

Unfortunately I just read it won't have stars/DP's - pretty annoying as most larger props and above are assigned them.

I'm a bit surprised the Phillip guy says planes don't really fly them ("seldom flown as filed")... He apparently has no clue about air traffic (especially in the USA)

Guess it just means well have to manually enter the fixes....

He has a clue, in Europe.

I realize that... but he needs to consider the USA - I'm guessing XP has a large customer base in the US too.

Anyway little GA planes don't usually fly them but since this GPS will replace other bigger planes that have the GNS430 it would be ideal to enable such a function... we'll see...  I guess technically he said they might add it later.

I wonder why this is if it uses Aerosoft's Navdata Pro?

You should post your comment on the developer blog so he knows !!

know that danklaue has expressed his frustration in the past about not being able to get into X-Plane's navigation database

I'm a bit miffed by that remark, since the navigation database is just a plain text file that anyone can read (and edit). For reading the terrain, it's a bit more challenging, and he'd best just providing his own.

I wonder why this is if it uses Aerosoft's Navdata Pro?

Since Aerosoft market X-Plane in Europe, make sense here ;-). Since both Aerosoft's and Navigraph's data use simple text files to describe the nav data, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to convert one format to the other (and I'm sure somebody will do it).

What I'm saying is why wouldn't it have STARS and SIDS if it's using navdata pro.... Which has them
