Anyone who has been a member since 2009 and hasn't ever posted anything at all -constructive or otherwise- has no business strolling through a thread and simply sowing "dislikes" like Johnny Appleseed.

I've had a few of those dislikes on threads where I'm just providing information to help solve someone else's problem, not even an opinion.  Which begs the question what he/she dislikes?  I also get dislikes and hate comments on my videos on YouTube ... just let haters hate and hope they eventually figure out it's doing them no good.

Cheers, Rob.

Ability to Edit a post has a limited time of ~15 minutes if I recall correctly.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that, probably because I never had to edit a post older than 15 minutes. So I guess no way to update the original post with some of the most important information?

On the matter I posted about previously, can anyone else test the AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD command and see if they're getting similar results with Novation? If the LOD system isn't working correctly, that would be worthy of reporting to Lockheed Martin.

I just found that thread I was talking about and the guy had it set to 12.500

Yeah, well that guy is an idiot*... I think the limit is 12,000 but I've not tried higher with 2.2.1.

* er, and its me

You :P

Honestly some people take a dislike to some personalties, or people with decent specs and money to spend, or have knowledge greater than their own... etc, etc.. there is a lot of strange bitter people out there.

Looking at some new screen compares I did this afternoon, I now wonder if some trees are being culled with lower values, but it seems to be all over, rather than at a certain distance... so I need to check again. Other input would be good ^_^

You know, for some reason, I kind of had the feeling that this was you.  :P

But, that's not going to do anything for anyone ... but I thought the Dislike button is for thread content and not about the person?  But agree, it seems some have used it in other ways for what end I have no idea.

On a personal level, if one doesn't have what others do and one wants those things in life, then one needs to make that happen.  Hitting dislike button because you don't like the individual is about as useful as filling a car with Milk rather than gasoline.  Opportunity is EVERYWHERE ... I made careful investments way back in the 80's in Microsoft, I made careful investments in Apple right about the time the iPod came out ... I regret not investing in Google but I have a nice stash put away for retirement and it's allowed me to get the things I want.  NO inheritance, no wealthy family, just hard work, smart choices, and I make sure I don't believe any BS I feed myself

I guess they could just be teenagers or something, but dang, I don't recall wasting my time on hate when I was a teenager.  (I smell a dislike coming on ... haha)

Ok, back on topic ... yes please, I'd like to see some new screen compares ... can you share?

Cheers, Rob.

Would be nice if someone linked in downloads to .fxml and .wx ... that way we could all be on the same page.

nyone else find it odd when there's a dislike added to someone's post by someone who has never posted in the forums??? Seems to be quite a bit of that going on... and I find it weird.

It happens a lot in the P3d forums.

I think providing the two negative response options, Disagree & Dislike, were bound to tease out this sort of use.  How about just leaving only the option for positive flags, like 'Agreed', or 'Liked', or just get rid of all of them?  On the negative flags, I think often they're just a quick but passive-agressive way to jab at someone else, and serve no other purpose that isn't offset by their potential for harm and 'pack mentality'.  If people want to complement or thank you, or contest something you post, let them take the time to commit their thoughts by replying w/ a real comment.

This is exactly what I suggested some time ago and everyone disagreed with me, so I can't see this happening.

I think this could be considered a form of trolling.  As everyone knows, members who have 1000 or more posts here have a troll/spam button that they can use to report trolls/spammers.  It's very difficult to investigate and prove though but we can at least give a warning to the member.

Maybe the same should be done for ratings, when someone has at least 500 posts or something?

There should be something for users with 140 posts or more too.

I do have an old username here somewhere from more than a decade ago.  I've forgotten the username, and the email address is defunct.

It might be from the late 90's

Any way to look that up?
