Milviz C310R and the Milviz T-38A Update

Featured Replies

God knows I have just read on SOH that the 140421 refers to the date ?

peter

Not quite, but close. A date is used as the version number, in the form of vMajorNumber.YYMMDD

The current C310R builds are:

FSX   - MilViz C310R FSX_v3.140420

P3Dv2 - MilViz C310R P3Dv2_v3.140421

It would help if you specified which product...

What have we been talking about for three pages?

T-38, ever heard?

  • Commercial Member

Dude. You're not helping yourself here. There are TWO products being discussed.

The latest for the T-38a is 28.

I have sent the updates twice for the 310 and t-38 to all dealers. I can do no more than that.

OOC here!

CS quality appears to be about 6 or 7 out of 10 at best.  Updating is confusing at best and attitude is not forgiving,  Sad when compared to the initial product quality, which has always been promising.  Oh but for what could be. Biting my tongue. Staying in business dollars come from initial purchase customers.  Profitable dollars come from repeat customers.  Bedside manner is everything!  (or miserable failure)!

We are above reproach!  Flaws are specific to only one or two customers.  There is a pirate behind every tree.

In college, some almost 40 or so years ago I was required to read and write an essay about a book by Joseph Conrad titled  "The Heart of Darkness" which I learned was scripted to emphasis that "man is inherently evil".

Humm.  Seems many have bought off on that.

Thank you Colin. I downloaded the correct file and I appreciate your support.  I'm very happy with all of the products that I've purchased from Milviz.  They are top quality.

Simmarket customers,

for your information; simmarket version is still the wrong one (dated 23.4.2014). So, wait until they get their version number corrected.

Colin,

I believe I read here or on your site that these service releases and versions are now compatible across all versions of FSX (Standard, SP2, Deluxe, Acceleration, Gold.  Can't put my finger on just where that was said.  Okay, so here is something both interesting and encouraging.  I just DL and installed this latest C310 update.  Where previously, despite numerous uninstall/reinstall attempts, the C310 100% of the time had this appearance on the aircraft selection screen.....

MV%20C310%20Abberation-L.jpg

It instead now looks normal 100% of the time, like this......

MV%20C310%20Abberation%282%29-L.jpg

I am hopeful this is an indication that the issue I have been having with the lights under certain conditions (images seen previously in this C310 topic) has somehow been fixed with this update.  I need to make a flight from daylight into dusk into darkness to verify and I will likely not get an opportunity to do that for a few days as it requires a longer flight than I have time for right now.

By the way.  The updated C310 installed as

..../SimObjects/Airplanes/Cessna 310R FSX Milviz.

My original installation is still in place as

.../SimObjects/Airplanes/Cessna 310R Milviz (no FSX in the folder name)

Yet the update fixed my original installation, at least to the extent shown above.  I assume this is because the update overwrote some C310 files outside the folders under ...SimObjects/Airplanes.

Ermmm... Following up to my previous question, I've installed the update (SP3) and I can see that Reality XP is not yet supported. So, is this feature still on the table? Actually, most of the buttons/knobs work with a simple panel.cfg edit, but the outer main knobs of the 3D model take priority before the RXP gauges...

Tym,

I have not flown this model since 01-19-2013 for an issue with my installation not related to RXP integration.  I will report that I have an RXP GNS530 and RXP GNS430 installed in my panel and I believe tonight I confirmed excellent use of main and secondary knobs after loading the C310 and testing knob functionality while on the ground.  I can PM you my panel.cfg file if you like.  I'd have to do some backtracking to see where I got help to get this done.  I did not figure it out on my own.  I have licensed both the RXP 430 and 530 as well as the advanced pack.  You can see my RXP installation in the C310 via some of the screen shots I have posted in this current topic.

Hi Frank,

I've noticed in your screenshots that you are using a 2D version of the instruments. What I'd like to do (and what's been made possible for the Milviz Baron via an update) is to have functioning RXP units while retaining the 3D knobs/buttons on the panel (essentially reusing the 3D bezels designed for the "default" Milviz GNS units). Judging by the lack of response, it's not being considered, so I'll just drop the subject.

Thanks for the offer, I'll be sure to give you a shout if I decide to try the 2D approach...

The rxp units work in 3d in the B-55 and the c310 and the 407.

I have also contacted simmarket again using a different email address... It appears that mine has been blocked for some reason...

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the reply. I know they work perfectly in the B-55... However, there's no RXP panel.cfg included with the C310, and if I try adding the units by manually editing the file, there seems to be a problem. That is, the GNS displays OK, and most of the buttons work, but when I try to operate the outer knobs, the RXP cursor is replaced by the standard FSX hand icon, and I can't interact with them. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure as we don't provide support for the rxp units.

We just put the 3d items in.

Sorry....
