Milviz C310R and the Milviz T-38A Update

Featured Replies

To be clear, it's the 3D item that takes priority over the RXP gauge placed underneath, preventing it from working properly...

To avoid further confusion, could you simply provide a config file for the C310 that makes RXP work in 3D? I have installed the update (MilViz C310R FSX_v3.140420), and it doesn't contain one.

but when I try to operate the outer knobs, the RXP cursor is replaced by the standard FSX hand icon, and I can't interact with them. What am I doing wrong?

The 3d knobs in the C310 are tagged in the model with the default GPS knob commands. They were never intended for use by the RXP gauges. That is what the 'Free Radio' panel option is for.

To accomplish what you are asking for would require a fourth model with the 3d "gauge mesh" adjusted to fit the RXP units physical layout, and no internal command tags.

Tym,

Try reading this thread from about a year ago.  Not sure you will get the full 3D size on the knobs, but I certainly have mine working well and the thread I am pointing to below was a great help.

Thanks for the reply, Bill. I understand how this works, but as far as I remember, this was done in the B-55 Baron without requiring an additional MDL file. Hence my references to the Baron in the previous posts -- after one of the updates, it became possible to switch between the FBS_GNS gauges and RXP gauges simply by modifying panel.cfg entries. If that's not possible now, are there any plans to add that functionality to the C310?

Thanks! I'll be sure to read the thread and try to work something out. I've been spoiled with the full 3D integrations in some other planes, but I'll try that approach

The file at fspilotshop.com does not appear to be updated. Can you confirm whether you have sent them the update?

They were sent the files on Monday. I have been in contact with them and it's fixed now. Apparently.

As well, honestly, buying direct saves us grief and gives us an extra 8 to 45% in terms of income.

I wasn't thinking about your grief.  As for your extra income, that's between you and the tax man. B)

I was thinking more punter's grief.

And I was about to ask you if you were interested to do the Sky King Songbird livery for this model....... :P  That TV show here in the US was responsible for giving many of us that urge to fly.  Though I believe that was a C310B.

I'm not familiar with Sky King, but I did a Google and only came up with a yellow/brown paint and a blue/white (Songbird III) I couldn't find any decent photos of either of them...

I think someone already did that one. Check the library or our forums for it.

And Ron, I am aware of that.

Ron.  For your viewing pleasure.  This half hour replay of a classic episode gets suspenseful, with flying, at about the 23 minute mark. Other flight segments at about 13 and 15 minutes in.  Quality good enough to watch full screen.
