Ok i can do that got another problem though -

 

ATC doesn't clear me for descent i stay cruising waiting for descent i'm still on course at fl230 i pass kidli my first waypoint for my star and atc comes to life giving the speal for the star.

Well apparently, Mourad (the dev behind pro atc /x) has been very ill and stopped development of the program for now. While every member on the pro atc x forums has been lied to for months now that the update is coming out. ohhh boyyy

So someone is not telling the truth on the ProATC forum about the update is coming?

 

In the many years I have been participating on forums, ProATC is by far the most bizzare!

We don't know that for sure. Have you been around to his house and given him a hug ?

 

The quicker that the volunteer support ceases, the less people will lose money.

 

But to continue to say the update is coming is a travesty, and should not continue.

Im not buying anything alpha117 is part of or mourad. Esp when it is an atc program. He pops his head from time to time into the pro atc forums but cant say anything while everyone there is told he is still part of the development. Not very trustworthy..

 

from experience.. an "illness" is the most widely used excuse for flight developers. not going to start mentioning names but seriously, are you that sick that you cant go on the forum and take 2 mins to write a statement?

 

 

How many other FS companies make statements such as this and never come through?

Maybe a 2 bit addon or airplane developer with no forum and  and no support whatsoever.

This situation is totally different, one it is a very expensive addon, it has been widely purchased from members of this community, and a support forum which has been very active.

 

And of course you know that.

I have bought a lot of crap program's over the years but what gets me about proatc is the price. for what you get i would expect pmdg type of program.

 

If this program was in the 30 dollar range it would be a good program. That is what has me the most angry is the price i payed.

I can name plenty of FSX addons that are not even worth a dime IMO.  And not to defend the ProATC/X guy,  but getting sick seems to be popular with FSX.  I suppose it's because many are developed by amateur hobbyist programmers.

 

Also trying to get help for programs that are still active, such as PFPX, is like pulling teeth.  Questions are not answered in the official forums, I can (and did) get an answer here faster.   Meanwhile someone like Volker goes out of his way to answer FSCommander questions.

I agree with what you are saying Stubb, but this particular developer has done a runner before. Unfortunately, that was not revealed till long after release, and some if not all of us were not aware of his history.

If he is an amateur, he is a darn good one, and he is probably sunbathing on a beach somewhere wondering what the fuss is all about. it's only money. To him anyway.

 

Some developers are top shelf,like Volker. Developers who I believe are honest and up front will always get my support. You get companies like Rea Air, PMDG Opus, HiFi etc are true professionals.

Jim Skoma mentioned above about research, even though his reply was condescending (when is it not ) no amount of research would have predicted what happened with PATCX.

yep, you dodged a bullet

 

It's a shame because ProAtcX had great potential at the start.  I've already turned my eyes to Pilot2ATC.  Not purchased yet but so far the dev is active and making updates.

 

If the dev of ProATCX is ill then I fully understand the reason to stop development.  Health has to come first above all things, even work 99% of the time.  I do also understand why people would be suspicious,   I browsed over the pro ATC forum last week and there were still claims that moderators where in touch with the dev once a week and all was going well,  but because I will never truly know I have to wish the dev and a speedy recovery.
