June 4, 201412 yr AVSIM has been working well for some time now - although slowly at times. However in the UK, it has again started not connecting between 8 and 9 UTC in the morning. Are others noticing this? Gerry Howard
June 4, 201412 yr Commercial Member Yes same here around 9-11 local time here. GMT+1 Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
June 4, 201412 yr However in the UK, it has again started not connecting between 8 and 9 UTC in the morning. Yesterday, got a 503 in that time frame too. I have to laugh, because, every time I do get a 503, I think of "23-19!" from Monsters Inc. "23-19! 23-19!"
June 4, 201412 yr Same in Ireland, can take up to ten attempts to make a connection in that timeframe.

June 4, 201412 yr This topic has been moved from "Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM" to "Hangar Chat". Jim, I don't understand why this topic moved and the other thread from a few months ago ("503 Service Unavailable") was left in the Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM forum.
June 4, 201412 yr And the answer was given in that thread too . The reason was that in that time period AVSIM is making their backup . John
June 4, 201412 yr Yes same here around 9-11 local time here. GMT+1 Stockholm, Sweden is actually GMT+2 at the moment, as the rest of western Europe ex. UK and Portugal which is GMT+1 (Daylight saving time) Soeren
June 4, 201412 yr Author And the answer was given in that thread too . The reason was that in that time period AVSIM is making their backup . John Has AVSIM only begun making backups at that time - i've only begun to notice this effect? Gerry Howard
June 5, 201412 yr My experience is it has been like this since the hardware updates recently . Don't forget for AVSIM it's the middle of the night for them . For me it's taking 20 - 30 seconds to load pages ( on average ) at any time of day , so for me at least it has got worse since the hardware upgrades . Other advice was changing browser but I've tried that , makes no difference at all , also use a multi boot system ( XP , Vista and W7 ) . John
June 5, 201412 yr Author Don't forget for AVSIM it's the middle of the night for them . None of my sites show down care where they are - so I don't think that's the cause. Gerry Howard
June 5, 201411 yr If you read the " other " thread mentioned above , this was the answer given as it is night time in the US ( so logical for them to do this at that time ) , it's always going to be " day time " for someone else when they log on. As iI stated earlier this has become more apparent since the hardware update and especially so at 10:30 ( GMT+1 ) , something ( the 503 ) that I never had a " problem " with before . John
