July 17, 201411 yr You can run Radar Contact and many other Flight sim tools on a networked machine/laptop ect by using WideFS, which is a companion program also written by Peter Dowson. I have Radar Contact running on a laptop via wideFS and utilising Showtext by Rob van der wiele to show Radar Contacts output on the laptop. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ Have you restarted Radar Contact and FSX since altering the key commands ? Make sure than no other programs are using the same commands and be aware that the FSX main screen can lose focus if the mouse is moved away from it, if the Rader contact/fsuipc window is not accepting your input try clicking anywhere on the FSX screen. That would be an even bigger mistake IMHO. PFE works fine once you are used to it, but you are correct it can be nightmare to get working. Radar Contact is straight forward to operate and has been working well for years now. I considered Radar Contact but believe it offers limited support, and no future developments envisaged because of the authors personal commitments.
July 17, 201411 yr i'm assigning the same keys as PFE for RC is this ok Why not just leave them as default until you have the program working properly ? And you must restart FSX after changing any of the key bindings, in fact if I remember correctly Radar Contact pops up a message to this effect when you save the new bindings. How far have you got as far as getting the program running ? Have you got the latest Makerwys from Peter dowsons forum ? http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ Have you rebuilt the Database from the RC main screen ? I notice you said you were running Fsuipc 4.6, this is badly outdated the latest is 4.934. Do you see the RC/Fsuipc window in FSX ? I considered Radar Contact but believe it offers limited support, and no future developments envisaged because of the authors personal commitments. Support is very good, check out the Radar Contact forum here at Avsim Why are future developements important to you ? Radar Contact works reliably and has done for years. If you want a trouble free ATC program then it's Radar Contact or possibly VoxATC, I have been running RC problem free since 2005, it had a very long time in developement and is very mature software.
July 17, 201411 yr i dont think its as good as PFE i tune ATIS but it won't shut up unlike PFE you switch comms and it silinces it. you can't get rid of the blue box unless you right click it. i have tried my key assisgnments none work lol think i had the 4.9 anyway but i copy and paste that link. i can't find makerwys only used the one with RC I can get the box up with white writing but no keys work i don't see RC FSUIPC window in fsx also check for updates box is missing Vernon Howells
July 17, 201411 yr i dont think its as good as PFE i tune ATIS but it won't shut up unlike PFE you switch comms and it silinces it. Atis goes silent here as soon as I tune to Clearance. you can't get rid of the blue box unless you right click it. i have tried my key assisgnments none work lol Ronzie gave you the key assignments to hide the Fsuipc window, AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10 -- uses ctrl-x to hide and unhide the RC/fsuipc window WhiteMessages=Yes -- option to turn red text in fsuipc window to white instead of red read the Fsuipc documentation for further help with that. i can't find makerwys only used the one with RC here it is http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ I can get the box up with white writing but no keys work I don't see RC FSUIPC window in fsx That is the Radar Contact/Fsuipc window that you are seeing
July 17, 201411 yr ok i done makerwys again and rebuilt the scenery thing that key works ctr x but none of my other keys do :( Vernon Howells
July 18, 201411 yr For those of you using RC4, ProATC X or PFE, if you are using AI traffic and find that you have a lot of go arounds, I stumbled on a little program the other day that will help. An inherent problem with FSX and AI traffic, no matter which AI package you use is that FSX knows nothing about SIDS, STARS, Holding patterns or separation. AI flight plans end start after the SID and end before the STAR. during these parts FSX just send them direct from and to the runway. Many times I have been cleared to land and all of a sudden another plane overtakes me and lands. It is then when I get the call to go around. I found a program on AVSIM called AISIDSTAR. It has been around for a while now but not very well heard of. What it does is to monitor the AI aircraft at airports you can select, whether it be your departure and arrival airports, or those plus airports on your route, or even all world airports. Then as aircraft take off it controls them an makes the fly the SID based on the first waypoint and runway in use. When aircraft are arriving at the airports then it will assign a STAR based on last waypoint and runway in use. It then slows or speeds up the aircraft to enable correct separation. It is nice when you are flying a SID and see other aircraft also flying the SID. You can find it on AVSIM and it is FREE!!!
July 30, 201411 yr Guys sorry for so delayed post from my site. But there are not anny atc chatter pakcs for fdc live cockpit? I want one for that, because i paid for it. And since there is a menu with atc chatter options there should be some? I am wrong?
July 30, 201411 yr Hi Pilot2atc Superb new software ive had no problems and the software does far more than all of the above. Try the demo New forum on avsim for it you, can check comments there Mhazy
July 30, 201411 yr Does Pilot2Atc support SIDs/STARs from the NavData? Jarkko Puustinen (FSX live streamer, YouTuber) http://www.twitch.tv/virtualfreightdog http://www.youtube.com/user/VirtualFreightDog
July 30, 201411 yr Superb new software ive had no problems and the software does far more than all of the above. Not yet is doesn't, so far it looks promising but it does not use any FSX airport data, control or interact with Ai, make use of real world weather, run networked ect and a lot of other things still missing. Early days and one to watch though
July 30, 201411 yr You can import flight plans, so if your flight plan has SIDs/STARs in it, the program will follow it. Also, the current version, v1.3.0.2 does support SIDs/STARs, according to the website. Version 1.3 does interact with Ai, including traffic alerts.
July 30, 201411 yr if your flight plan has SIDs/STARs in it, the program will follow it I think this method only works in the US, where the same SID can be flown from more that one runway. In Europe, a single SID is for a single runway (in most cases). Jarkko Puustinen (FSX live streamer, YouTuber) http://www.twitch.tv/virtualfreightdog http://www.youtube.com/user/VirtualFreightDog
