Any good atc addons?

Recommended Posts

Looks like a great start and enthusiastic support from the author of the program.  But, having to use it in a windowed mode kills it for me.

Bummer.

I wish there was some sort of atc program where you just take off from an airport and fly around and then decided to ask atc for airports nearby then ask for vectors to the runway, instead of pre planning your dep and arrival airport, that would be really cool.

But is that necessarily realistic? I didn't think you were allowed to take to the skies without filing a flight plan with some form of authority? Not a RW pilot myself, so I can't say for sure.

Not yet is doesn't, so far it looks promising but it does not use any FSX airport data, control or interact with Ai, make use of real world weather, run networked ect and a lot of other things still missing.

Early days and one to watch though

Looks like it does in fact interact with AI now - check the FAQ - http://pilot2atc.com/pilot2atc/Support

Thanks for turning me on to this. I will give it a try. I still haven't found an ATC addon that pleases me...

I tried it but it is no good, as it will take you to the general area of the airport however will not give you vectors for the actual active runway, when you do get to the airport, then you need to figure out what the airport runways are etc.

I think you are referring to 'Pilot2ATC'. If so, where did you learn of the windowed mode requirement?

@LDP1949

Yes, I was referring to Pilot2ATC.  Should have made the clearer.

I downloaded the demo and tried to run full screen using two monitors, but was unable.  It would have been great to run Pilot2ATC on the second monitor.

So, I started investigating and found a statement somewhere from the author stating that it could not be done.  Sorry, I do not remember if that was in the documentation or at their forum.  In any case, the statement confirmed my findings.

 It may be simpler to set up but PFE is a much better programme I think.

Can someone provide a link to the PFE 2.5 update?

Thanks.

A pilot is always learning and I LOVE to learn.
