Thanks for your work with this Bert! Did you have to turn off the 3-D knobs to make the RXP 430's work?

No, I used the Carenado RXP setting, but had to turn off instrument Reflections for the popups to work.

Hi everybody,

been pretty keen on this release, but my question is about the FPS impact because all of that glass inside again?!

Anyway compareable to the Jetprop or TBM?

Any info would be very appreciated!

Cheers!

The glass gauges are the exact same gauges as in the Jetprop - so the impact should be the same..

Bert

Having now flown this airplane for a bit, I've got to say that it has a lot going for it..

The panel is very similar to the JetProp, but unlike the JetProp, the Seneca cockpit is not quite as claustrophobic,

and quite homey..

I got tons of CTDs out of the jetprop...not sure if this one's the same.  Honest question:  why would folks get this if they had the Duke?

I've never had any problems with the JetProp and have a fair number of hours on it.  It's far from perfect, but a bit of a guilty pleasure for me that I rather enjoy flying once in a while.  Not sure why yours never cooperated, Gregg.

As for the question, as usual the answer for me is grounded in the RW - the Seneca was actually the twin I hoped I'd eventually move up to from my Turbo Arrow (and the Malibu the single).  IRL, the Duke was a very limited production aircraft that never really caught on and was a significant expense to operate.  Big, but often troublesome, engines, full de-ice and pressurization are all nice but expensive.  In other words, it was never a terribly practical plane.  For me, the Seneca was (potentially) a reachable goal - the Duke, no chance.  From a sim point of view, the two are similar, but IRL not so much.

The sim, of course, allows me to fly what I never could IRL (and the RealAir v2 B60 Duke is my favorite plane), but I still like to fly planes that I either did, or potentially could have flown.  Hence the appeal of the Seneca.

The Phenom 100 was "tested by real pilots" too --- and look how that ended up.

No Thanks.

I've been told that Bernt Stolle developed the flight model for this airplane - and I would say that the handling confirms it.   It is just as nice as the Duke, but different because of it's large "floating" wing.

The Duke drops out of the sky when you move the throttles to idle, the Seneca has some gliding ability.

Bernt and RealAir are both amazing at FDEs.  Whenever Carenado does a good job completing an airplane and I can Google aircraft documentation it's generally a no brainer buy.  But that means I avoid the airplanes that have more complex systems from them.  The C206 is probably my next one.  I want a good highwing for getting in and out of valley airports.  Closest thing I can get for a fairly modern complex highwing.

Current model plane with 2013 configuration. A 34 year age gap between the two. Carenado Graphics... it's new!

I was all hyped up to buy this after having been in the real one, and requested it for a couple years... but now I'm all "King Air" happy these days, having dropped 120 on F1-200 and the Milviz 350 (MilViz 350 pre-order people where given the "alpha" test plane just the other day... Game changer folks! and that's the alpha!)

And so it goes... my need for reasonable speed (at least 300 knots), has dropped me outa this one for now... But I'll get it in a month or so.

The Milviz KA350 is simply put the single best modeled turboprop to ever grace a public flight simulation program, ever! Milviz certainly has a winner on their hands and the modeling is superb, the lighting even more so, I swear some of the pictures look just like the real thing.

I guess Bernt doing the FDE explains why this plane is such a joy to fly.  This plane really performs just as the real one does.  Hopefully Carenado will release a service pack soon to take care of the minor gripes/issues but I can't find anything wrong with the flight dynamics of this one!! :P

I didn't think the Milviz 350 is out yet.

It is not, unless you Pre_order, and even in the Alpha state that its in, its better than any other simulated turboprop including the JS4100 from PMDG.

No, not yet... but the people who pre ordered got a surprise when they allowed us to test drive the alpha.

when you start the engines, the props slowly spin until you give it some gogo juice.... I just sat there and giggled for 40 minuts.

You can read all the numbers on the proline without the help of a pop up.

Its a giant plane (as is the RW one), and it drives like it... but keep in mind this is the super alpha test plane for pre faa certification.. the experimental proof of concept plane. So allot is missingl... and again... only the Pre-order customers got a test drive.

I spent most of the day trying to see what all the buttons did... I definitely need a KA Proline manual.

BOT; as far as I know, brent has done all the Carenado planes sense the Mirage.

I really want the twin, but it'll have to wait for SP's. I'm a retired Carenado Beta tester, and the coffee over there is awfull.

He's been doing them since before that...probably since around the KingAirs but he also did the JetProp and the C337.  Despite a few flaws, the Mirage is really nice.
