Tony,

 My config is :

 i5 2430m

 GT525m 1GB

 8 GB RAM

 But XPX almost freaks out.

Well, if you are willing to lower some rendering settings, then you should be able to run HD Mesh Scenery v3 ... but I am also sure, that in some regions (depending on the amount of data), 8 GB of RAM might become a little bit tight (usually I say, that 8 GB is the minimum requirement).

The windows laptop I have uses a similar configuration as Ironmaiden's (i.e. 8GB, i5), and it runs HD Mesh v2 quite nicely. If you start using dense forests and OSM scenery then it will become slow, but out of the box, I've found it can run X-Plane 10 with HDR and HD-Mesh v2 quite nicely.

I have them lowered already. Guess I will lower the roads too.

Thanks.

Which GPU ?   Not using OSM .  But the trees are on max.

Yes, luckily trees (forests) aren't so hard on the GPU anymore nowadays. So, you can usually have them at higher settings ...

Alpilot / Tony,

Just installed Lubuntu and XPX with Maxed Trees / Default Roads / Default Objects / No Photoscenery or W2XP / OSM.    Using HD Mesh V2 and Trees and I am LSGL damn 40 fps hmmm funny stdby let me try HDR mode.

Wow I am 21 FPS with HDR ON @CYPK though the weather is clear there.   Not bad. And HD Mesh 2 looks so nice.

One more thing, which you - the community - can improve. The airports! The boundaries of airports are used - at the time the sceney is created - to smooth the landscape and plant grass inside the boundary of airports. Now if they are not correct (the boundaries), then the terrain smoothing will happen in the "wrong" place ... Or often airports do not even have a boundary at all, and in that case the scenery generator will approximate one (derived from the shape of runways, aprons etc. ---> convex hull) which is often not optimal (and will also nuke close by roads / autogen parts, if they overlap with the boundary).

So, if you want to have your airport improved, start using WED now. And I will try to use as much up-to-date data from the gateway as possible when the time of scenery creation comes (sometime in October).

Could you expand a bit on that? I had the assumption (probably wrong) that forests are on CPU and not GPU.
