Awesome, that is great news about the disconnects then.  I'm about to rebuild my system this weekend and had been debating going Win7 again or using the $40 upgrade I bought for 8 when it first came out.  Definitely holding off of 8 and doing Win7 for now then 10 when it comes out :)  Hopefully more people that had problems on 8 will test 10 and be able to report if it's fixed for them as well.

I'll wait for automatic 8.1 update to 10. Not interested in reinstalling FSX with all addons... I remember that pain in the as* when going from Vista to 8.1.

You don't need to reinstall. It is an "Upgrade" just like an update, even going into the tech preview.

Even from win7?

I think he means when Windows 10 is going from tech preview to comsumer preview to final. If I recall correctly, you had to reformat in order to go from preview to the final version of 8.1

Yes, I remember some problems with the 8 preview. No more updates and I couldn't install any more apps.

So I was forced to buy 8 final, which was no problem as I got that with my new hardware.

Hopefully 10 final will be a online update for 8.1 as I intend to keep this PC longer. (No more FSX needing

faster HW) Not so sure if, like this title suggests, that will be for free.

PS: kieronmeen is it possible to upgrade 8.1 to this 10 preview without format? Well I don't want to break

anything... I have it installed in virtualbox for having a look at.

... no new Intel with higher clock of base 5.0 or 5.5 GHz (no over-clocking) for now, no new MS OS required either then.

Cheers,

Eh........

So and how? Like saying that it will be free, simply someone's guess. I'll  dismiss that obsolete os anyway, if there's no one click update.

Early reaction to windows 8 was absolute horror, and it flopped. So far, windows 10 is getting a cautiously optimistic reception across a broad base of techy-types, (who were giving away or selling at a low price their free copies of windows 8, the last go-round)

That video just seems to showcase a lot of "features" that I don't actually need. Isn't that a criticism of later versions of MS Office?
