FTX Global 1.30 Released

Featured Replies

Wish I had kept 1.2 there's something not right with 1.3 and I installed it EXACTLY as instructed over my old installation. Scenery looks washed out and trees look like default FSX ones. Not happy.

Will try the scenery moving fix tonight. This has put me off buying anything else from FTX until they offer installers for their products.

You can roll back...and you don't have to delete v1.30.   You just re-install v1.10, and then right after that, you apply the 1.20 execute. Apply (if you have OpenLC Europe installed) the Europe-East segment, and then re-boot the system. If everything went well, you are now back to what you liked about Global 1.20.  Good luck.

A fresh install for P3Dv2.4, and Global, Global Vectors has left me with a wonderful sim. At least on my machine, these releases from these developers keep getting better and better.

William are you saying you did a patch version and was not happy and now a fresh install has worked wonders ?

Are you seeing vertical clouds in his new install of yours ?

Everything looks fine here.

I did a fresh install and then installed everything that needed to be installed again.

No issues with FTX or other addons.

Many airports I have installed on another drive so I only have to copy the saved effects into the updated effect folder.

Copied my saved scenery.cfg file and all my 297 entries are there again.

I'm nearly pulling my hair out over this stupid FTX Global *(^("£ up see below:

Checked my scenery entries using that freeware prog and it shows loads of paths not existing although when I click on edit the path is there correctly! Why is it saying the path doesn't exist? How do I fix? Anyone know before I wipe the drive and go back to doing something less irritating for a hobby...?

Maybe that program does not work correctly - from what I have read you just put those LC files just below that addon scenery entry - pretty easy - I have not loaded Euro LC yet so not tested

I give up. Going to do something more productive and wipe the drive. Never buying anything from Orbx ever again until they provide full installers for each of their products. Amateurs!

uhh... they do have full installers for each of their products?  Or else how would you first install said product?  Sorry it isn't working out for you but I would not be so quick to blame Orbx or thousands of other users would be up in arms when that is simply not the case.

He meant to say an uninstaller - I personally have no problem deleting folders to dump orbx stuff but an uninstaller would be nice

I would agree my library is slowly getting out of control and I wish there was a product management tool that could manage all my orbx purchases and add/remove as needed...that would be really nice!

I really don't have the time for this mess. If Orbx/FTX won't provide uninstallers (correct Richard sorry ;) I won't bother buying anything from them anymore.

Going to wipe the FS drive and do a complete fresh install of P3D V2.4.

I wonder what you need uninstallers for in this case....? If you want to reinstall everything, simply delete everything and you're done. That's how I do it and it never failed me.

Not buying something GREAT only because you might want to uninstall it to only reinstall it (how often does that happen) seems a bit odd to me. But of course, you're the boss on your PC! ^_^

Have to agree on that. Trying to keep up with all the updates is hit and miss unless you remember to check their forums. An A2A simulations type Auto updater would be a winner, just launch and let it check and auto  install ...easy

Well the advantage is it won't clutter your registry lol

If you go to Orbx's FAQ forum, there are topics that cover uninstalling a product.  It's not that hard.

Anyone who is installing. moving, or uninstalling anything on their computer should also be using a utility (like Glary Utilities), to keep your registry clean (among other things).
