April 16, 200521 yr I've respect for your opinion but you are going over the fence here Dan Begin quote:or those with money burning a hole in there pocket.Stop quote"Just have respect for other flightsimmers here then to tell which kind of simmers will buy this one....For your info the topic was just to share what I think as a piece of art made and the bar raised for scenery design.I feel insulted with your second line Dan and don't accept that so I'm going to ask if they are willing to lock this topic.Andr André
April 16, 200521 yr >I feel insulted with your first line Dan :-hmmm :-hmmmSerious or joking? Insulted by "niche product"? It doesn't take much to get you insulted these days. I always thought that one can only be insulted by statements directed at a person and not at objects.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
April 16, 200521 yr Thank you for your contribution to this topic Michael and please be so kind to read the adjusted the message to make it more clear.Andr André
April 16, 200521 yr >please be so kind to read the adjusted the message to make it>more clear.I was kind to read it ;-)Still, this is the stuff no 'normal' person gets insulted about. "Money burning a hole" is a frequently used colloquial term in the English language. You sensitivy threshold is very, very low.EDIT: by the way "money buring hole" would be equivalent to "very expensive" or "overpriced". Saying that something is very expensive doesn't insult buyers of the product nor its creator.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
April 16, 200521 yr Thank you could we discuss this then further in my native language Dutch ;-)You can't juged my sensitivy threshold Michael because you don't know me . (based on one message :-hmmm )This is the first time I feel like this in 4 years of active posting here in the forums...Andr André
April 16, 200521 yr anyone that flys SWA either in a VA or just for fun needs this scenery to add to the list of places you must fly!
April 16, 200521 yr >Thank you could we discuss this then further in my native>language Dutch ;-)Or in my native Polish ;-)By the way, the scenery looks outstanding and you were justifiably excited. Nothing like that has ever been done for FS (per my recollection). I only wonder why the author forgot about the tire marks on the runway.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
April 16, 200521 yr Andre,Whilst I have no intent to insult ANYBODY, I am, as is everyone else who posts here, intitled to my opinion, and it is just that, my opinion.I don't (did'nt?) think I had said anything out of line, but if I have insulted you in some way then I hope you accept my apology. But, my opinion does, and will remain as I have previously stated.I also see no reason why Avsim should lock this post, nothing untoward has happen in it as of yet, and I see it as purely a discution of the economics behind the pricing of addons.Edit that, I have just re-read my post, I think you have gotten the wrong end of a dirty stick my friend. My "as you" part of the post was directed to the fellow above who stated he had a vested interest in the area as he is from there, and had flown there, the "as you" part was not the "money burning hole in pocket part", and was certainly not directed at you, hope that clears it up a little.Dan.
April 16, 200521 yr >Going to checkout the tire marks but find it compared to real>life (EHAM) realistic.I happen to have NASA World Wind program installed on my PC. It allows me to view KPVD airport with very high (30 cm !) resolution. I am able to zoom in on runways at PVD and see very distinct tire marks - the are specially hard and pronounced on the side of runways 23 and 34. I posted a message on their forum asking about this detail.>you can see that this is made with Duszą i ciałem /z>ochotą i radością too bad I have no Polish font ... absolutnie sie zgadzam, z Dusza i zapalem. April 16, 200521 yr Thank you Dan and I've have up most respect for you as a person and also for your opinion. One threat isn't going to change that...By al means I think that all people are entitled to express there opinion but in a polite manner.I felt offended and translated as "Dan is telling me in a negative way about my spending" (of hard earned money)But then again sometimes mis-understandings can happen with foreign languages as Michael pointed out to me ;-)I've learned a wise lesson today and will ask the next time how the sentence is mend :-)Thank you for being so kind to respond and discus your opinion DanAndr André
April 16, 200521 yr Going to check that Michael have the same program Nasa World Wind...That's a great program too :-) Andr André
April 16, 200521 yr >"The problem is at $40 this scenery addon is a "niche">product, which will only appeal the those who have a>particular insterest in the area, as you do, or those with>money burning a hole in there pocket.>>I would guess that the sales will probably show this..."Exactly! That's the point. If I've got nothing better to do with my money than blow it on $40 addons for FS9, why do you or anyone else care? If the price is too high for the market to take, then the author will lower his price or go out of business. No one has the right to someone else's work for free unless they decide to give it. I read on this forum what in my opinion is a misguided feeling that some feel that we are owed "freeware" which is nothing more than the hard work of others for free. If some are generous with their time and work, then I applaud their generosity. If others want to charge what they feel is a fair price for their work, and I want to pay it, WHY DO YOU CARE??????
